Veeres turn dancing and styling gurus for Sumeet

Sumeet Vyas sure has a lot going on, with his first major commercial Bollywood film, Veere Di Wedding out for release, which will see him romancing the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor Khan and also the first time he will be seen breaking into a dance on screen. Being the only male actor in the film, Sumeet sure had the Veeres looking out for him, right from getting styling tips from Sonam and Rhea Kapoor to being given pointers for their sangeet scene by Kareena.

While shooting for the dance sequences, Sumeet rehearsed a good three days prior to the actual shoot for the song in order to perfect the choreography, but was in for a surprise when he realised he wasn’t doing it as perfectly as he thought. “Shashanka (the director) told Kareena to act uncomfortable and completely not into the whole thing, the way I was. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was killing it!” remarked the talented actor.  

Apart from receiving a lot of support from on set, Sumeet also received some tips from the two fashionistas of Bollywood, Sonam and Rhea Kapoor, who co-own a clothing brand.

When Sumeet began shooting for the film, he had a complete wardrobe assigned for his look in the film. Whenever the producer's, stylists and Sonam got together to discuss everyone's look, he ensured to stick around because there were certain tips and tricks that he learnt from the super chic Kapoor sisters. Even though most of it was for his character in the film, the English Vinglish actor couldn't help but apply a few of those suggestions into his daily wardrobe. “I have personally never paid so much attention to what I wear and how I wear clothes and what difference do those little touches make to make those regular clothes look fashionable. I got the first taste of it when we sent my haircut photos to Rhea for her opinion. I thought I was looking rather neat in that hairstyle but she commented back saying it is ‘generic’ and that did make a lot of sense to me. Which is why, you see me in the look I have in the film. A lot of credit also goes to my stylist in the film, Abhilasha Devnani. She’s exceptionally talented”, he signed off

Yami Gautam aces the epic #humfitohIndiafit challenge

Yami Gautam has been busy prepping for her upcoming roles in Batti Gul Meter Chalu as a lawyer and as an intelligent officer in Uri. The actress was spotted at the Bombay High Court attending a Vacation Bench Session to get a better understanding and feel of the inside of a court room. For Uri, she has been taking MMA classes and has been pushing the limits of fitness to ensure she gets the body language and demeanour of an armed forces officer before she begins shooting for the film.

Recently, her co-star from Uri, Vicky Kaushal, challened her to  the #HumfittohIndiafit challenge. The challenge was initiated by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Rajyavardhan Rathore.

Yami didn't just take on the challenge, she aced it by posting a video of her doing four different functional training excercises, outdoors. Because of all the training she has been doing for her role in Uri, it definitely gave her an upper hand and that could be seen in the videos. She also told fans on her social media that one doesn't need a gym only to work out, just open space and the determination to do it.

After seeing her do this challenge like a cake walk, we cannot wait to see the action packed stunts she does on screen for Uri.

Chhavi Mittal got emotional while shooting for Sony TV’s Zindagi Ke Crossroads

Zindagi Ke Crossroads that will soon air on Sony Entertainment Television is all set to showcase relatable life-altering stories, inspired from the drama of life. Each episode will show a new story and before a ‘Crossroad’ decision is taken by the protagonist, it will be put forth to the studio audience for deliberation. This audience is the representation of our country and will highlight what most of us would have done in that situation. Popular television actor Ram Kapoor will be seen as the host of the show who will not just encourage the audience to share their views but will also delve into the “Whys” of their decision making so as to bring alive the melting pot of opinions in the audience for the narratives showcased. With an interesting and never seen before format on weekday primetime, one can only expect to experience the best. 

One such intriguing story is on the topic of ‘Special child’ which will see the beautiful Chhavi Mittal step into the shoes of a mother who will be in a dilemma whether to give birth to a special child or abort the baby. It’s a heart-touching tale which will surely captivate the viewers mind forcing them to think about thousands of such special children in the country. 

Talking about the story Chhavi Mittal said, “I read the scripts and the stories multiple times and if I am 99% sure only then I sign for it. When I first heard the story, I found the character very challenging and something which I haven’t done before, I simply agreed to it. Zindagi Ke Crossroads is a concept which is very unheard and progressive and it’s an honor to be a part of the show. The show is very progressive and I am glad I was a part of it. I shot for the show and it was perfection in the presence of Shabina Khan and direction of Mahadev. I am a mother myself and I could completely relate to the episode that was offered to me. I could totally relate to the character, as I know of mothers who have special childen. In every person’s life there are different levels of crossroads but we always have multiple choices unless and until one takes that final decision.Shooting this episode moved me as a person I will request my fans to please watch this amazing show because it will surely change your thinking.”

Vivek Anand Oberoi relentlessly works for the cause of Tobacco Free for more than 15 years

Actor-philanthropist Vivek Anand Oberoi, who serves as the anti-tobacco spokesperson for World Health Organization and who is also associated with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) for more than a decade addressed a huge crowd at the press conference on World No Tobacco Day.

The large-hearted actor who has been associated with several noble causes including girl child educaton among others addressed an audience on the consequences of tobacco consumption, urging them to go tobacco free not just at their work stations but as an overall lifestyle alteration.

Riding high on the success of his debut web series, Inside Edge, Vivek has been keeping extremely busy juggling between work commitments including a show by Balaji and one for Zee TV. In spite of his busy schedule, Vivek definitely takes time out to be part of the cause that he truly believes in.

Addressing the crowd, Vivek said, “I’ve been associated with CPAA for more than a decade and it has been a wonderful journey. It has been an incredible journey. I’m grateful to the family of CPAA that they made me part of their family which has changed my life for the better.”
