Vivek Oberoi at Concert 'Love For Life Begans With Music'


Vivek Oberoi attended Farhan Akhtar's perform live in concert, ‘Love For Life Begins With Music’, for the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) to create awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco. The event was held last night at Rangsharda Auditorium.

The large-hearted actor who has been associated with several noble causes including girl child educaton among others addressed an audience on the consequences of tobacco consumption, urging them to go tobacco free not just at their work stations but as an overall lifestyle alteration. 

Riding high on the success of his debut web series, Inside Edge, Vivek has been keeping extremely busy juggling between work commitments including a show by Balaji and one for Zee TV. In spite of his busy schedule, Vivek definitely takes time out to be part of the cause that he truly believes in.

Cast and Crew of Love Sonia heads to open The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival


The Producer of Life of Pi and Slumdog Millionaire’s Tabrez Noorani are all set to take their next fabulous piece “Love Sonia" for a world premiere at Europe’s largest South Asian film festival. The film will be opening The Bagri London Indian Film Festival 2018 which begins this 21st June 2018. The Festival will be attended by Director Tabez Noorani, making his directorial debut. Also attending will be the cast of the film: Mrunal Thakur, Richa Chadha, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Sai Tamhankar and Riya Sisodiya. The festival will also be attended by the film’s Producer David Womark; Executive Producer, Pravesh Sahni; Co-Producer Amar Butala; Sound Mixer Resul Pookutty;  Writer, Alkesh Vaja; Composer, Niels Bye Nielsen; Editor, Martin Singer; Production Designer, Ravi Srivastav; Makeup Artist, Virginia Holmes and Co-Producer, Nadim George.

Inspired by true events, Love Sonia this is the shocking story of a young Indian village girl whose life is tumultuously and irrevocably changed when she gets entrapped in the global sex trade while trying to save the one person she is closest to, her sister Sonia. The film has been shot in Jaipur, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, and will be released in India this September. The film is based on an eye-opening story of Global Sex Trafficking and has a strong ensemble cast comprising of Hollywood as well as Bollywood actors, including Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadha, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Sai Tamhankar, Sunny Parwar, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Noorani is introducing Mrunal Thakur as the lead character, as well as Riya Sisodiya.

Director Tabez Noorani was himself involved in a real-life rescue mission that took place in Hong Kong and India. Speaking about that and the film, he says " We were keen to make a project for a global platform which would speak volumes about an issue which is a terrible problem faced by almost every community, and which has not been adequately addressed. This movie attempts to cast light on this issue.

Producer David Womark said, "Both Tabrez and myself are proud to have Love Sonia open the Bagri London Indian Film Festival, .Ang Lee has said that when there is a strong woman character in a story--it always grabs him. We are very fortunate in Love Sonia to tell the powerful story of a strong woman’s journey.”

Co-Producer Amar Butala also said "It's an elated feeling to take your project to a world platform where you have people from different cultures get to see a global issue, opening Love Sonia at The Bagri London Film Festival is one such immense feeling which I am extremely proud of.

Disney Pixar's prominent super hero family is back! "Incredibles 2" made its debut in LA, and the cast of the sequel hit the red carpet for the animated adventure's world premiere.

Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sophia Bush, DeVore Ledridge, Catherine Keener, Huck Milner, Director Brad Bird were just a few of the big names who came out to celebrate the movie's return. Critics and celebrities in attendance at the premiere shared their thoughts and appreciation for the film on Twitter. The film was also called  the "best sequel Pixar has made outside of the Toy Story franchise."

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

Written and directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles,” “Tomorrowland”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), Disney•Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on 22nd June 2018.

INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL OF MELBOURNE ANNOUNCES DATES AND EMBRACES ‘INCLUSION’ AS ITS 2018 THEME


The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) – the southern hemisphere's greatest annual celebration of Indian cinema – today announces details for their much anticipated 2018 program.

Taking place from 10th–22nd August under the unifying theme of ‘Inclusion’, this year’s Festival offers all Australians the opportunity to explore the richness and diversity of contemporary Indian cinema, from Bollywood box-office hits, documentaries and art-house premieres, to a Bollywood dance competition and master classes with key figures from the Indian film industry. 

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has seen the biggest Bollywood names grace the festival. From Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Karan Johar, Rishi Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen Sharma, Richa Chadha and many more celebrated industry individuals. The festival sees over 40,000 patrons from India and the Sub-Continent every year attending various events that are hosted all over the vibrant city of Melbourne. 

IFFM Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange is also thrilled to announce BMW as the sponsor of the 2018 BMW Short Film Competition, providing an invaluable platform for aspiring and emerging filmmakers to showcase their work. The winning entry will be shown at screenings throughout the festival, and the winning filmmakers will be flown across the globe: the Australian winner to India, and the Indian winner to Australia.

Judging the award will be IFFM’s Special Guest, and acclaimed actor Ali Fazal, named by Variety as one of the ‘10 actors to watch in 2017’. Fazal’s recent credits include the lead role of Abdul opposite Dame Judi Dench’s Queen Victoria in Victoria and Abdul, and the Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots. He has recently signed on Prassthanam with Sanjay Dutt and Milan Talkies with Tigmanshu Dhulia 

IFFM Director Mitu Bhowmick-Lange commented: “The theme of inclusion is the principal belief of our festival and we very excited to explore it through our BMW Short Film Competition”

Past winners of the IFFM Short Film Competition have gone on to stellar careers, including 2013 winner Jehan Ratnatunga, currently working at YouTube in Los Angeles, and 2011 winner Varun Sharma, who has taken up a role at the leading Indian production company, Yash Raj Films. 

The Festival is seeking short film submissions of 10 minutes or less that reflect the theme of ‘Inclusion’. Entry is free and the winners will be announced by July 31. Closing date for entries is June 30, 2018. IFFM 2018 is accepting entries via Film Freeway.
