Oddsox emerges as India’s Best College Band at Parx Hunt 2018

The long-awaited Parx Hunt 2018 Grand Finale kick-started with overwhelming enthusiasm at the Hard Rock Café, Mumbai. Wooing the jury and the music enthusiasts at the event, Oddsox from Chennai emerged as the National winner of Parx Hunt 2018.

As HRC Worli echoed with loud cheers of the crowd, the first performers Hidden Identity set the event rolling with their scintillating renditions of alternative rock music followed by Common Thread, Alchemy, and Oddsox respectively. The evening reached its crescendo as the four bands battled it out to claim the coveted title for the year.

Gaurav Mahajan, President, Group Apparel, Raymond, said, "The idea behind this initiative was born from the fact that Parx as a brand connects with the youth. Moreover, creating a platform for independent musicians had been long due, and Parx Hunt has in some way managed to fill the void. We wish to take this initiative to better heights in the years to come."

As UA vocalist E.P.R Iyer came on the stage door the headlining act, a wave of magnetic energy ran through the crowd bringing the evening alive and the audience witnessed as to what sounds like the most amazing rap rock band in India can offer. Vivifying the spirit of Parx Hunt, leading artists like Anand Bhaskar, Rhythm Shaw, Abhishek Gurung, Sambit Chatterjee, Sidd Cuotto and Nikhita Gandhi collaborated with headlining band Underground Authority (UA) taking the energy high up with every note. It was a first for a platform of this scale to present multiple artists sharing the stage before a live audience. This act proved their support towards Parx's unique initiative in encouraging independent artists and giving them a larger than life opportunity to make it big.

Pragati Srivastava, Brand Head, Parx, said, “Parx is a brand that resonates with the youth of the country today. Through Parx Hunt, we are trying to feel the pulse of this generation and nothing could be better than music to do so. We provide the right stage for upcoming college bands to showcase their talent and learn from the best in the music industry. The winning band takes home a prize money of three lakhs, which we hope, will fuel their dreams. With this initiative, the Parx Hunt team hopes to touch more lives with every passing year and enrich the musical journeys of everyone who ever dares to dream.”

I want someone like Jaya to plan my wedding- Srishti Jain

After a grand reel wedding of Jaya and Samar in Sony Entertainment Televisions ‘Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo’, it seems Srishti is getting very excited to plan her own wedding. Playing a wedding planner in the show Srishti had a gala time shooting this beautiful sequence. So much so that she was often seen taking notes on-set on the kind of ceremonies and elements that she would like to have during her real wedding.

This is not all looking at her excitement the co actors actually started teasing her on when is her real wedding or is it around the corner. Talking about the same Srishti said, “I love my character Jaya who is a wedding planner. Being a wedding planner is not an easy task. In the show it was shown that my character planned her own wedding. The wedding turned out to be very beautiful and exactly the way I would have wanted it to be had I actually been getting married. For a moment I thought, in future whenever I will get married, I will hire a wedding planner just like Jaya who is innovative and lively and is always on her toes fulfilling all her clients’ needs.”

Comedy Circus is one of the best stress busters and a delight to watch during weekends. Govinda who was seen promoting his upcoming film ‘Fryday’ with Varun Sharma were blown away with the immense talent each artist possessed on the show. But the one artist that caught attention was comedian, Siddharth Sagar.

The ace actor couldn’t believe how all these talented actors perform on the stage without any support of teleprompters to read the script in front of them. When Siddharth Sagar entered the stage for his gag along with Mubeen and Karishma sharma, he immediately caught Govinda’s attention. Impressed by his comic timing, Govinda said, “It wouldn’t be surprising if Siddharth is offered a film where he can play a comedian. The way he does physical acting and comedy is just splendid and completely outstanding. I have done many comedy films, acted in endless number of movies, but Making me laugh is very tough and Siddharth is the one who nailed it”.

Sohail Khan also commented, “I have worked with Govinda and Varun, they are very easy when they do comedy. You won’t see dragging in their acting. They are just amazing as actors and I am glad to have them on our show. Siddharth Sagar never fails to make us laugh and he has taken the benchmark a level higher with his comic skills.”

Tarun Khanna enters as Chanakya in SET’s PORUS

The versatile and handsome actor Tarun Khanna, who has stepped into the shoes of Chetan Pandit to play Chanakya in Sony Entertainment Television’s magnum opus show  'Porus' is leaving no stone unturned to do justice to his character. To look authentic as the character of Chanakya the actor has decided to shave his head for real and has stopped going to the gym as well. The actor is rigorously preparing for his role by reading Chanakyaniti on the sets. Just like the perfectionist that he is Tarun wants to get into the skin of his character and bring out the best version visually. He spends his free time on the set by reading things of that era.

When asked Tarun says, “The role of Chanakya completes my trilogy. It is also the most challenging role of my career so far. Chanakya is the most well-known character in the Indian history of all times along with Mahatma Gandhi. I have been his fan since my childhood. I remember reading Chanakyaniti when I was in school but never knew I would be playing the character someday. I went crazy when I saw Dr. Dwiwedi portray his character and it inspired me to play Chanakya from then itself. Now that I have this role, I want to excel in it. I keep reading Chanakyaniti in my free time, I have also downloaded an E-book on my phone. I can’t thank Siddharth Kumar Tiwari enough for giving me this opportunity.”
