UN Human Rights Office Launches Unprecedented Global Campaign for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equality 

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Friday launched Free & Equal, an unprecedented global public education campaign for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.
At a press conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay was joined by Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and Justice Edwin Cameron of the South African Constitutional Court to announce the year-long project. A statement of support was read out on behalf of renowned South African singer and UNICEF and Roll Back Malaria Goodwill Ambassador Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights promises a world in which everyone is born free and equal in dignity and rights – no exceptions, no-one left behind,” said High Commissioner Pillay. “Yet it’s still a hollow promise for many millions of LGBT people forced to confront hatred, intolerance, violence and discrimination on a daily basis.” 
“Changing attitudes is never easy. But it has happened on other issues and it is happening already in many parts of the world on this one. It begins with often difficult conversations,” Pillay went on to say.  “And that is what we want to do with this campaign. Free & Equal will inspire millions of conversations among people around the world and across the ideological spectrum.”
The Free & Equal campaign aims to raise awareness of homophobic and transphobic violence and discrimination, and encourage greater respect for the rights of LGBT people. Over the coming year, it will release a variety of creative content along the lines of ‘The Riddle,’ a video released by OHCHR for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, and ‘The Story of a Mother from Brazil’, which is the first in a series of films interviewing the family members of LGBT people around the world.
The campaign follows an OHCHR report published in December 2011, which was the first ever official UN report on violence and discrimination against LGBT persons. The report documented widespread human rights abuses. Today, more than 76 countries still criminalize consensual, same-sex relationships, while in many more discrimination against LGBT people is widespread – including in the workplace as well as in the education and health sectors. Hate-motivated violence against LGBT people, including physical assault, sexual violence, and targeted killings, has been recorded in all regions of the world. 
The campaign will focus on the need for both legal reforms and public education to counter homophobia and transphobia. 
A number of celebrities with a commitment to equality have pledged their support for Free & Equal by becoming UN equality champions and helping to spread campaign messages and materials via social media. These include the pop star Ricky Martin, South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly, and Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury.  Additional equality champions will be announced as the campaign unfolds.

"SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE" NOW RELEASING ON 6th SEPTEMBER

As announced earlier, YRF’s “SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE” has been invited to the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (TIFF) for a Gala Red Carpet premiere, which takes place on the 11th of Sept. Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra & Vaani Kapoor, along with the Director, Maneesh Sharma and writer, Jaideep Sahni will be attending this prestigious event.

In view of this, the release of “SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE” has been preponed to 6^th September. This will enable the artists to be here during the crucial pre-release marketing phase and at the time of release.

“SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE” will now have a shuddh desi release first.

CID Team in Matheran

CID on Sony Entertainment Television is the longest running crime series on Indian television with number of special episodes. This time the team is shooting for a special episode in Matheran. The story revolves around a murder of a well-known man who was killed ruthlessly by an unknown attacker. Oblivious to this violent happening the son and daughter in law travel to Matheran for their honeymoon. CID team comes to know about this mysteries case and starts their investigation. During their investigation, CID team uncovers the hideous plot of murder and comes to know that the murder’s next target is victims son. Inspector Daya, Abhijeet, Nikhil and Shreya would be going to Matheran in search for the victim’s son and to know unveil the murderer.

Apoorva Lakhia’s toughest action sequence in Zanjeer!!

With all the buzz around the much anticipated action fiesta Zanjeer, we hear that director Apoorva Lakhia has shot one of the most expensive and toughest scene of his career in Zanjeer!!

Here’s an interesting sneak peek!!

The scene portrays Telugu Superstar Ram Charan who is making a debut in B-town driving through Prakash Raj’s oil mafia where he carries out all the illegal activities and destroying the entire slum.

This sequence is the most expensive scenes in Bollywood in the recent times, and required research and planning of over 2 months to portray it in the way, it will look.

Picturised on a huge set, with about 2000 huts and several cars for Back up, Apoorva Lakhia made sure nothing went wrong during the sequence. With eight cameras for the sequence, the director was certain about his vision.

We hear that this sequence is the most expensive scenes in Bollywood in the recent times and it took about 2 months to make the set with a 5 day long shoot in Film City, Mumbai to make the sequence come to life.

A source close to the team said, ‘There were about 2000 huts and several cars for back-up. The most difficult part about this sequence was co-ordination as there were 8 cameras and working on all together becomes quite challenging. But Apoorva had a very clear vision and knew how wanted the scene to look like , which made work very easy.”

Well, get set as Apoorva Lakhia’s action flick is all set to hit the theatres on 6^th September, 2013!!

Tanuj-Isabelle-Aditya triangle discovered!

That Tanuj Virwani and Isabelle Liette’s so called romantic escapade was discovered is old news. Fact is that there were not two but three people there. The one who got missed by the paparazzi on the prowl is Aditya Seal.
The trio are in fact the lead cast for Eros International’s next youth flick, Purani Jeans, directed by award-winning director Tanushri Chattrji Bassu.
The trio who had bonded well during the shoot of the first schedule of film in Manali decided to catch up for a cuppa in Mumbai, and that is when the shutterbugs got the better of them.
“We thought it was Aditya pulling off prank as usual and we responded to the cameras, and the we realised he hadn’t even arrived yet.”
Adds Isabelle, “Tanuj and Aditya used to get great pleasure in teasing me and pulling pranks on me. And I thought it was another of  their old tricks.”
 "The next morning when I saw the newspapers, I was very amused," guffaws Aditya Seal, the cute Mountain Dew model who makes his debut with Purani Jeans. “I was the third angle of the story but since I was picking up the director for the outing, I missed the drama!"
As for Tanushri, she simply says the camaraderie between this trio is what Purani Jeans is all about… “Friendships is like  Purani Jeans. The more you wear it, the more comfortable it feels; never mind the wagging tongues! More so, because I know that Aditya saw the cameras and decided to stand grinning at a  corner and then come and enquire with an innocent face as to what was happening.”

'Eros  इंटरनेशनल' कि अपकमिंग यूथ बेस्ड फ्लिक 'पुरानी जीन्स ' कुछ दिन पहले तक तनुज विरवानी और  'Isabelle Liette'  के रोमांस के लिए खबरों में थी.  लेकिन अब ये खबर पुरानी हो चुकी है .  जी हां , दरअसल इस लव - स्टोरी में कोई तीसरा भी आ गया है. कुछ दिन पहले खबर आई थी कि तनूज विरवानी और isabelle liette एक दुसरे को डेट कर रहे हैं ,  लेकिन हकीकत कुछ और ही है , इस लव - एंगल में एक और भी है जो खबरों में नहीं आया। दरअसल वो तीसरे आदित्य सील है . दरअसल पुरी ख़बर ये है कि  तनुज विरवानी , isabelle  liette और आदित्य सील 'Eros international'  की फिल्म 'पुरानी जीन्स ' में एक साथ नज़र आने वाले हैं . और अक्सर ये लोग हैंग-आउट पर निकलते हैं . रोमांस की ख़बरों के बारे में isabeele कहती हैं कि - जब मैंने ये खबर देखी तो हैरान रह गई , तनूज और आदित्य मुझे चिढ़ा रहे थे , दरअसल हम दोनों में रोमांस जैसा कुछ नहीं है ...ये एक नार्मल hangout था जहां , मै , तनुज और आदित्य तीनो साथ थे.  वहीँ इस फिल्म के डायरेक्टर तनुश्री बासु चटर्जी इस बारे में कहते हैं क़ि दोस्त  'पुरानी जींस' की तरह होते हैं, आप  जितना पहनते हो उतना ही   कम्फ़र्टेबल होता जाता है , बिल्कुल पुराने दोस्त की तरह. और फिल्म में और फिल्म के बाहर इनकी बीच की केमेस्ट्री बिल्कुल 'पुरानी जीन्स' कि तरह है..
 बहरहाल , ये सारी कहानी एक फोटो की वजह से बनी जो  आदित्य की शरारत थी और आख़िरकार सच सामने आ भी गयी आदित्य के  ट्रायंगल  के साथ ...
