Wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan and his ex-wife have
finally reached a divorce settlement, four years after papers where filed in
2007. According to the Daily Mail, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, has
agreed to give his ex Linda 40-percent ownership of his companies and more than
70-percent of their liquid assets.
Florida newspaper The St Petersburg Times reported that
Linda will also receive an additional $3million in a property settlement. The
paper further states that Linda received $7.44million of the couple’s
$10.41million which was held in bank accounts.
Hogan will not be required to pay his wife any
maintenance.
Hogan and his wife split after claims surfaced that Hogan
had had an affair with a woman named Christiane Plante. After filing for
divorce, Linda started dating a 19-year-old named Charlie Hill. A year later,
Hogan started dating Jennifer McDaniel, who he married in December, last year.
In an interview with Good Morning America, Hogan
addressed claims raised by his ex-wife in her autobiography that he had abused
her. “When we were going through the divorce, and she was with her 18-year-old
boyfriend, if I even was in the same town with her … she would file charges that
I looked at her the wrong way at a red light, and wanted to have me put in
jail,” he said.
“So if I beat her up for 23 years, why didn't we talk
about this at the divorce? And why, all of a sudden, is it coming out now, when
her book's come out?”
