Ustaad Ghulam Ali performing on his own song for Film ‘498A- The Wedding gift’

In one of the raremoments musician Ustaad Ghulam Ali had agreed to perform onscreen for Suhaib Ilyasi directed film ‘498A - The Wedding Gift’. For the firsttime in his career, Ghulam Ali has not only sung a nationalist and patriotic song forthe masses of India, but he also performed onscreen for the film. He was seen spouting dialogues and enjoyingthe experience with other star cast Farida Jalal, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo and Shrishti Gautam. “What is so surprising in this? I found thewordings of the song beautiful, music touched me and hence I agreed to sing. Thissong, in any case, can be for any country. It’s a song dedicated to one’s ownwatan. When I was asked to perform too on screen, I was initially skeptical butlater got into the spirit of it. And why not,” asks he adding, “India and Pakistan were one country. There weretwo brothers till siyasat played its dirty game by separating them and creating a siyasi border in 1947. Lekin bhai to bhai hote hai, bhaiyon ka khoonka rishta hota hai, bhaiyon ke beech naittifaqi ho sakti hai lekin wo hameshake liye alag kaise ho sakte hain?Hindustan aur Pakistan ke beech mazboot rishtethe, hai aur aage bhi rahenge. To phir mein national song India ke liye gaau yapakistaan ke liye kaya farak padta hai, mere music se do bhaiyon ke beech agarduri kam hoti hai to kayon nahi?” DirectorSuhaib Ilyasi is naturally very happy because it adds just the right flavor tohis story line.
Producedunder the banner of Aliya Productions Pvt Ltd, this film deals with the misuseof the criminal Act 498A of IPC 1860 in our judiciary system.SuhaibIlyasi of ‘India’s Most Wanted’, is debuting as a director in Bollywood. Thefilm has an ensemble cast of Alok Nath, Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo, SupriyaKarnik, Deepak Tijori, Sushma Seth etc. Lead of the film is played bynew comers Haarsh Nagar and Shrishti Gautam. The music has been composed by Ray& Brotherhood.
