Ustaad Ghulam Ali performing on his own song for Film ‘498A- The Wedding gift’

In one of the raremoments musician Ustaad Ghulam Ali had agreed to perform onscreen for Suhaib Ilyasi directed film ‘498A - The Wedding Gift’. For the firsttime in his career, Ghulam Ali has not only sung a nationalist and patriotic song forthe masses of India, but he also performed onscreen for the film. He was seen spouting dialogues and enjoyingthe experience with other star cast Farida Jalal, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo and Shrishti Gautam. “What is so surprising in this? I found thewordings of the song beautiful, music touched me and hence I agreed to sing. Thissong, in any case, can be for any country. It’s a song dedicated to one’s ownwatan. When I was asked to perform too on screen, I was initially skeptical butlater got into the spirit of it. And why not,” asks he adding, “India and Pakistan were one country. There weretwo brothers till siyasat played its dirty game by separating them and creating a siyasi border in 1947.
