The wait is finally over as actor Saif AliKhan has been confirmed as the main lead of T-Series and Milan Luthria’s megafilm project! The leading lady of the film is still under wraps but the makerspromise it is a very strong and challenging role and that she will be one ofthe top five heroines of the industry.
Jointly Produced by Bhushan Kumar and MilanLuthria, the film is slated to be a wholesome entertainer with a strongromantic angle appealing to all types of audiences, with music playing asignificant role in the project.
For Bhushan Kumar, Head Honcho of T-Series,this yet to be titled project is the mogul’s next big outing after the 2011Salman Khan-Asin starrer Ready, which was a smash hit at the box office.Directed by Milan Luthria, who has had a fantastic run recently with thesuccess of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and The Dirty Picture, the film will be acharacter-driven story and an interesting mix of comedy, action, drama andromance creating larger-than-life cinema for movie lovers!
Says Bhushan Kumar, "After Ready, my nextfilm will be directed by Milan Luthria. As Ready did 100 crore-plus business,we will continue to dabble in film production in a big way. We do not wish tomake multiple films but would rather do a few good projects. No run-of-the-millstuff for us. Milan's film for us is a family entertainer. I am excited. We arevery happy to have him on board. We wanted someone who could make people laughand Saif is perfect. The film will have action, adventure, suspense, comedy andmusic — in short; it's a complete masala film! We should start filming in2013."
Milan who is riding high after two back toback super hits is too excited about the film. Quiz him on the superhero angle andMilan is quick to revert, ‘There are many superhero films out there but thisisn’t one of them.Ours is a masala entertainer with a twist, that's all that I'll say at thispoint. Saif and I hadalways been talking about reuniting again for another film after Kachche Dhaagebut somehow nothing materialized. This time he was shooting in Istanbul while Iwas in Prague. We were speaking to each other over the phone when he remindedme again of doing another film which is when I narrated a plot to him of whosecharacter fit him to the T. He was very thrilled about it and agreed to do thefilm over the phone itself. It was instinctive for both of us and I’m sure theoutcome will be something to watch out for."
On turning producer Milan says, "Mycompany Vertex Motion Pictures has already line produced The Dirty Picture so Ithought why not go all the way. Partnering with Bhushan is great. We are bothcoming from super hit movies behind us. The connect is great and the confidenceis high.”
The untitled film will be Milan and Saif’ssecond project after Kachche Dhaage which happened 13 years ago!
Saif also expresses tremendous happiness onreuniting with Milan and collaborating with Bhushan Kumar, "I am very happy to be working withMilan again. I would like to associate with his kind of cinema. It will beexciting to work with Bhushan. Though we interacted for the music of AgentVinod, we will be working together as producer and actor for the first time. It's important to choose a subject and make it with the rightpeople. That's what has happened to this film."
The film’s announcement a few months back hadalready created quite a stir in the industry and now that the lead actor’s namehas been revealed we just can’t wait to find out whom the makers choose as theactress opposite Saif!
