Classmate inspires children with ‘Follow Your Heart’ talk session in Mumbai


Classmate, India’s leading Education & Stationery brand from ITC Limited organized a talk session, ‘Follow your Heart’ at the IES School, Bandra in Mumbai. Eminent personalities including Soha Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Terence Lewis and Ravinder Singh interacted with 3000 students in Mumbai and with over 35000 students across 14 cities through a country wide simulcast. An additional 85000+ students participated in this session through Facebook.
As seen in the title of this interactive session, Classmate ‘Follow Your Heart’ highlighted the importance of exploring your true calling - by believing in your unique interests and talents.  All the panellists shared their own experiences on how they took decisions during their formative years, which led to changing their paths; often multiple times in the quest to follow their heart. Their success is testimony to the fact that they followed their heart and achieved success in their chosen spheres.
Mr. Chand Das, Chief Executive of ITC’s Education and Stationery Products Business commented on this occasion “Children today have moved beyond the conventional career paths of pursuing medicine, engineering or finance. However, they are often constrained either due to lack of encouragement or availability of adequate information on these “non-conventional” career choices. Classmate endeavours to encourage and inspire children to pursue their dreams. This talk sessions an effective platform to communicate this brand ethos through real life examples of recognised icons. We have been able to reach out to 38000 students directly through this simulcast and many more on digital platforms like Facebook.”
He also added, “Our speakers are individuals who have carved a niche for themselves by following their hearts and have emerged as icons in their chosen fields. Through their stories, we hope that the students have been inspired to explore the limitless possibilities the world has to offer rather than feeling bound by the few that convention prescribes. Classmate believes in encouraging students to nurture their true talent, be it off-beat or mainstream.”
