Maya Digital Studio’s super hit series ‘Motu Patlu’ which is aired onNickelodeon is the winner of the Best 3D TV content at AAKA (Animation Association Karnataka Award) 2013. The series also received the Arena Industry contribution award 2013.  A favourite amongst kids and parents, Motu Patlu is a Maya Digital Studios property, which is aired on Nickelodeon every day at 12:00 noon, 4:00pm and 6:00 pm. 

“We are very excited with the success of Motu Patlu and the awards it has received. Earlier, International cartoon characters dominated the Indian animation industry mostly. I am glad that Motu Patlu has successfully broken this tradition, making it one of the few Indian characters which is loved by both kids and parents alike”, said Mr. Ketan Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director, Maya Digital Studios. “In the early days, Indian animators were approached by foreign production houses to provide backend services. That is probably why, for a long time, Indian animators lacked a sense of story-telling. When Maya Digital Studios launched this 3D animated series ‘Motu Patlu’ on NICK last October the famous characters from Lot Pot comics struck a chord with kids and families across the nation instantly. Already a phenomenon in India, Motu Patlu is one of the kid’s favorite characters and it is the only Indian kids’ show which is able to compete with the best of the world. Inspired from the characters of Lot Pot Comics, Motu Patlu is a lively comic caper that is set in the beautiful city of Furfuri Nagariya. Motu and Patlu are as similar as chalk and cheese… the Awesome Twosome are always on an adventurous expedition and have an uncanny ability to get into tricky situations.After seeing the massive success of the series of Motu Patlu, Maya Digital Studios decided to treat the audiences with complete animated movie, “Motu Patlu in Wonderland”. The movie was repeated three times within a span of 15 days on public demand and received a continuous TRP over one and a half hour of 1.29, 0.78 and 1.01 making the movie a huge success.  

“We had used world class digital technology in the animation work for Motu Patlu in Wonderland, to make the movie amemorable watchingexperience. This success is very inspiring to make more animated movies for kids”, said Mr. Ketan Mehta.
