Directed by Indra Kumar, the bold adult comedy opened with a staggering net RS 12.51 Crores on day 1 of its release! This made 'Grand Masti' the film with the 4th highest opening of the year after blockbusters Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Race 2, a remarkable feat for an A rated comedy.
After a bumper Friday opening, the film clocked a splendid weekend across India in single screens as well as multiplexes with Saturday's figures of RS 13.21 crores and Sunday's figures of RS 14.46 crores . The collections remained strong even during weekdays with Monday’s figures of RS 7.5 Cr, Tuesday’s figures of RS 7.25 Crores, Wednesday’s figures of RS 6.30 Crores and Thursday's figures of RS 5.25 taking the massive tally to a total of RS 66.48 Crores for Week One!
