This winter, get ready to
experience the best of English, Hindi & Bangla Theatre with
"Theatre in Motion", an ongoing festival starting today. The
festival will provide theatre lovers a chance to experience
plays from prominent theatre groups of Mumbai and Kolkata in
the capital city.
Organised by Odisha based Utkal Rangmanch Trust in
association with Sanket the festival is steered by
Anant Mahapatra, a legendary figure in the world of
theatre. Theatre-in-Motion revolves around his idea of
making the best of theatre available for viewing to
connoisseurs across the country.
Theatre in Motion had a good take off on 5-6 Oct with two of Nadira Babbar's famous plays- SAKUBAI starring veteran actress Sarita Joshi and Yeh hai Bombay Meri Jaan.
Going forward Theatre in Motion will feature
famous theatre exponents like Rajit Kapur, Mohan Agashe,
Om Katare, Ashish Vidyarthi, Lilette Dubey, Ira Dubey,
Shernaz Patel, Yashpal Sharma, and many more.
This weekend Delhi is all set to welcome legendary Tom Alter and sufi dance exponent Zia Nath on 13th Oct, in the popular play "Old Man & the Sea" based on Ernest Hemingway's famous award winning novel by that name. Directed by Shivani Tibrewala of "No License Yet", the play is a mystic sufi take on the famous novel.
Also presenting HELPDESK by the same group on 12th Oct. Helpdesk is a hilariuos satire on India's socio-political -economic scenario, starring actors Chander Khanna, Pathy Aiyar, Shamath Majumdar besides others.
