Musical
genius Bappi Lahiri dons a new hat – that of the UNESCO Nepal’s ‘Education For
All’ Goodwill Ambassador under the UNESCO program. Vinod Khetawat, the Chief
Patron of UNESCO’s The National Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and
Association (NAFUCON) felicitated Bappi Lahiri today for the same at
JW Marriott, Juhu. Designer Agnimitra Paul was also felicitated for women
empowerment.
Other than
Bappi Lahiri, Agnimitra Paul, Vinod Khetawat - Chief Patron of UNESCO Nepal,
also present at the event were Hari Bansha Kirati - President of UNESCO Nepal,
Ananda Raj Tripathi - Secretary General of UNESCO Nepal and Pradeep Kaphle -
President of UNESCO Club.
“We feel
Bappi Lahiri’s words will be taken seriously as Nepal has always held the
singer in high esteem. We are glad as he accepts our proposal and gives the nod
to become the Goodwill Ambassador of NAFUCON,” says Khetawat.
“Every child should be given the
right to education. Literacy is the foundation stone on which developing
nations will grow and emerge. I am very happy that my words will make a
difference in the lives of millions of children. I request everyone whose words
matter to join me in this quest for education for all, enthused Bappi Lahiri.
