his side when the DVD was launched.
The proceeds from the
charity auction, which included exclusive cricket memorabilia such as Sachin
Tendulkar’s t-shirt from his 200th test match, 2011 World cup
winning medal along with a chance to win a dinner date with Yuvraj and a
special practice session with the Indian cricketer himself, will go to the
Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YSF).
Held at London Hilton in
Park Lane, the event which was hosted by Mark Nicholas, was also attended by Sunil
Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Saurav Ganguly, Kevin Pieterson, Mr Arun
Rangachari, Chairman DAR Capital Group, Mr. Vivek Rangachari, Director DAR
Media Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Nishant Jeet Arora, the entire Indian cricket team, businessmen,

comedy act at the event which had the entire crowd in raptures.
Speaking at the launch,
an emotional Yuvraj Singh said: "I am happy that DAR has come forward to
support me to create more and more awareness about the disease. Cancer happens
to strong people. We needn't fear it, we have to face it and come out stronger
from its grip. With this DVD, I hope to show people that there is a life after
cancer, it doesn't end with it."
YSF, through its
initiative ‘YouWeCan’, aims to work for the early detection of cancer, for one
and all, so that no one has to fight cancer alone. YSF aims to create
consciousness on cancer prevention, early detection and fight against the
associated stigma. YSF is a non-profit organization registered under the Bombay
Trust Act 1950.
Commenting
on the occasion, Mr. Arun Rangachari said: “Cancer is the most endemic disease
and amongst the most fatal in the world today. We at DAR feel strongly about
addressing this along with other human issues to the best of our ability. The
best way we felt for our small contribution to this cause was through what we
do best i.e. Films. Hence, through our robust Corporate Responsibility
Programme we decided to back the creation of this inspirational DVD.”
