Osianama pays tribute to the Indian woman in cinema from Jan 23-Mar 27 with over 200 films and iconic red carpet premieres and exhibitions in the time period. ·       The Film Festival highlights various stages of a woman's life: Childhood, Coming of Age,  Mirror Mirror…, Glorious Beauty, Life Suspended, Marriage & Motherhood, Pursuit of a Deeper Individuality & its Power, Seeking a Spirituality among others.

·       One gets to witness iconic films by 21 leading directors from Věra Chytilová to Aparna Sen. ·       Next come the Retrospectives: Ingmar Bergman & Shabana Azmi, the 13th Osiana's - Cinefan Festival of Asian, Arab and African Cinema (Part One: 19-28 Feb, 2016), which includes the Competition Section; Section on Contemporary African Cinema; plus a Focus on the Iranian Women's Movement & Female Film-Makers - Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Marzieh, Samira & Hana Makhmalbaf, Shirin Neshat, Mania Akbaari, Tahmineh Milani, Manijeh Hekmat, Sepideh Farsi & others; Focus on the Cinema of Trinh T. Minh-ha and Japanese Classics. Life Time Achievement Award to Aruna Vasudev. ·       Don’t miss the focus on the Cinema of Chantal Akerman, Deepa Mehta, Signe Baumann & Meena Kumari, followed by the  Focus on the Cinematic Inspiration of Proust's Madame Bovary & Female Innovation in the World of Rock & Pop from Madonna to Rihanna; Kate Bush to Amy. ·       It is not just that.
