Bhansali’s first “anti-hero” film

After the unprecedented success of Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has announced his next.For the first time the filmmaker is making an “anti-hero” film telling the tale of the greatest Sultan of Hindustan - the ruthless and ambitious Turk, Alauddin Khilji and his obsessive love for the legendary Mewar queen Padmavati, known for her beauty, intellect and the courage with which she fought her nemesis – the undefeated Alauddin. The filmmaker had earlier directed the opera based on the same, which was highly celebrated in Paris and Rome. Tentatively titled Padmavati, the film will be written by Prakash Kapadia and will release on 15th December 2017.
