Showstoppers Zarine Khan and Tanisha Mukherjee stole the
limelight with their beautiful resort wear look
The first day of India Beach Fashion Week saw a lot of
excitement and thrill with some of the biggest designers in the industry
showcasing their innovative and stylish line resort wear collections. The event
began on a high note with Shri. LaxmikantParsekar. Chief Minister of Goa
inaugurating the day followed by an enchanting collection showcase by the
students of RachnaSansad School of Fashion & Textile Design.
The day continued to charm the audience with a series of
interesting by designers being showcased
on the ramp which included the creations from Akriti, MayyurGirotra,
RachnaSansad School of Fashion & Textile Design, BaniPasricha and Falguni
and Shane Peacock, to name a few.
MayyurGirotra presented his design hugely inspired by
Relationship Goals, with a lot of blacks and whites and a hint of reds. These
clothes were easy to wear and carried an element of style which resonates with
the fad for posting pictures on social media. The showstopper was Taneesha
Mukherjee who graced the ramp in the charming monochrome dress. ‘Flirtatious’
by Akriti was a peppy swimwear collection with youthful cuts and interesting
layers.
The other attraction of the evening was Sanjukta’s
Assamese Mekhla-chador collection which had Zarine Khan as the showstopper. The
evening finale was by Falguni and Shane Peacock in collaboration with Golecha
Jewels, with a neat and wide collection of soft satins and pure fabrics fused
with delicate prints. The models were seen in kaftans, tunics, shirts, short
dresses and enhanced beach wear.
Other line of creations showcased designer NiyatiMongawho
presented Kinaraa’s current collection which was designed for the modern Indian
women. The collection comprised of lots of blue and black, some pinks and
floral prints with high necklines and low leg lines. BaniPasricha presented a
line inspired by Greek mythology where each aspect of feminine beauty was
inspired by different goddesses like Aphrodite, Athena, Goddess Hebe and
Nemesis. This collection was a tribute to
women who are strong yet subtle and graceful.Another highlight of the
day was IBFW’s unique property ‘Sangria by the Sea’ which is a collaborative
effort to bring together the stalwart fashion designers and the fraternity to
network and discuss about the changing dynamics of the industry. This light and
suave session also showcased the creative work by the students ofRachnaSansad
School of Fashion and Textile Design who created Peach Dexterity – casual
collection and Indian Collection – a creative fresh trousseau.
Day two of IBFW promises to accentuate the excitement and
fashion fête of the season with an amazing line-up of designers and enthralling
line of creations which will crescendo with VarunBahl’s show closing the
Fashion Week.
