Swara Bhaskar’s first script as a writer – Split Ends won
the Asia Society India Centre New Voices Fellowship for Screenwriters last
year.
The versatile actor, who is always known for her choice
of interesting roles and playing it with great aplomb on screen, also won Rs 2
lakh prize money for coming up with a compelling story which will soon to be
adapted into a film.
If sources are to be believed, the author is in demand
for her writing skills as several well-known publishing houses have been
approaching her with offers to write books, in both Hindi and English.
Not many know, Swara has done her Masters in English
Literature and she also has a good command over Hindi.
The talented actress, who is currently busy developing
Split Ends and two other new scripts, also completed a workshop that was
organised as part of the fellowship.
Swara says, “One day, I want to write a novel. But I
don’t think I am capable of doing that just now. One of those two new scripts
is a comedy, about two Delhi girls and a trip that’s gone out of control.”
