Makers to donate percentage of 31st October revenue to Widow Colony

The makers of 31st October, including writer-producer Harry Sachdeva and National award winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil, will donate a portion from the box office earning of their poignant thriller to the women of Widow Colony in tilak vihaar, Delhi 
Based in New Delhi, ‘Widow Colony’ is run by the government, providing shelter to thousands of families affected by the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 that followed the assassination of the then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das, 31st October is the first mainstream film based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination and its repercussions. Vir and Soha play a Sikh couple in the film who tries to escape from a riot-prone area with their kids post the assassination of the late political leader.
Harry Sachdeva says, “ Widow Colony exists because of that dark day took place in Indian history. More than 400 families reside in the Colony. When we visited the Colony as a part of the research, we decided to share a big part of the revenue with them." 
Produced by Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, Panorama Studios, Anand Prakash and Harry Sachdeva and directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, 31st October featuring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das is scheduled to release October 7, 2016.
