Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd enters the Limca Book of
Records! The company’s initiative #FilmiGaaneAntakshri became the retro
sensation on twitter and trended multiple times on the platform. Limca book of
Records confirmed that it is the first and longest antakshari ever played on a
digital platform. With this Shemaroo gets yet another feather in its crown.
For the same campaign, Shemaroo made its first entry in
the Limca Book of Records for recording ‘Most tweets in a day to the public’
generated from the campaign by all the users either by participating or in
support for Day 1 of #FilmiGaaneAntakshari. The campaign that kick-started on
26th September’16 broke the record with 34,949 tweets to the public in a day
breaking the last record of 2,858 tweets made in February 2015.
Looking at the high participation number the company now
plans to continue with #FilmiGaaneAntakshari. It will now be a weekly event and
retro music lovers can play antakshari every Tuesday. The game will now be also
available for Facebook and Instagram users.
Hiren Gada, Director, Shemaroo Entertainment shared his
thoughts on the occasion “We are overwhelmed by the response that we received
from people in India as well as overseas.
Twitter is considered a youth platform and getting participation in such
high number speaks volume about younger generation’s affinity for the genre.”
Talking about the social media strategy, he said, “2016
is an exciting year for us as well as our audience when it comes to our social
media platforms. We have gone all out to understand what our audience want and
make an effort to deliver it. We have made our social media platforms more
entertaining and elating for the users. We have millions of users talking about
us on digital platforms and we plan to engage many more with our innovative
initiatives.”
