GULABI
2.0 from the film Noor staring Sonakshi
Sinha is not just another recreated version.Amaal
Mallik has composed completely new stanzas and given it a wonderful Trap/ EDM
twist.The
lyrics are by Kumaar and the song has been sung by Tulsi Kumar Amaal & Yash
Narvekar.The song
opens with a fun opening verse and then launches into club mode with the party
beats. When the song speeds up the tempo, it sounds very party-like which
enhances the danceable mood of the song "It's an out n out groovy track
which I expect will play at clubs and will be cranked up in cars. It's a
carefree sound. Just "letting all go" kind of vibe. I've given it my
best shot & made it sound as fresh & youthful, in terms of melody, lyrics
n sound, as I can"Elaborating
about the song, Amaal Mallik says "There are a lot of versions of this
song but nothing with a club vibe & something the youth can just loosen
themselves to. The mukhda I composed went into a hook which has the word
"Gulaabi" in it.So from
there the idea of having "Gulaabi Aakhein Jo Teri Dekhi" instead in the hook came from Bhushan sir and
Shikha Sharma my EP.The
phrase has a nostalgia trip attached to it and so I went ahead with the idea
they proposed but kept the rest of the song original""I've
kept the production very new age, something that has never been done before so
extensively & left it to the audience to decide. The audience will hear
Tulsi Kumar in a different voice which will be quite a surprise for her fans n
followers. My assistant Yash Narvekar, and I have taken charge of the male
vocals and he has a solo version in his voice as well" adds Amaal Mallik.'Gulabi
2.0' sees Sonakshi Sinha aka Noor undergo a transformation of sorts from the
innocent workaholic to a crazy party hopper. In her own words, she goes from
"seedhi Savitri" to "tedhi Savitri" as she downs a few
shots and dances with complete abandon. The song also features Shibani
Dandekar, Kanan Gill and Purab Kohli. It has
set YouTube on fire with a whopping amount of views in less than 3 days.
Directed
by Sunhil Sippy, the film is based on the novel 'Karachi, You're Killing Me!'
Noor' is all set to hit theatres on April 21.
This is Mallik's solo soundtrack after the very
successful score of MS Dhoni
