Marcel Khalife World
Music Concert brings us the best of new Arabic sounds. Dubbed one of the most
prolific contemporary Arabic musicians, the Lebanese singer and oud master
Marcel Khalife has been acclaimed worldwide for his avant garde compositions
and wistful optimism. Combining the oud tradition with classical, jazz and folk
idioms, the concert is a unique opportunity for music lovers to enjoy a
reinvented musical universe. A Pre-performance Talk hosted by a local musician
promises to enlighten patrons on middle-Eastern music and disclose Khalife’s
repertoire for the evening.Taiwanese-American violinist Richard Lin has already
amassed a startling collection of top prizes at major international
competitions. Together with his brother, Richard will perform several
masterpieces such as Mozart’s Violin Sonata No. 26.
