This
year on the completion of 100 years of the momentous event when Sai Baba took
Samadhi in Shirdi, Mere Sai is all set to launch the historic story of Sai’s
journey of Shraddha and Shaburi on Sony Entertainment Television. Abeer Soofi
will been seen essaying the role of Sai Baba It
was a difficult task for the casting and production to get someone with proper
looks and precision of Sai. More than 1000 people auditioned for this role and Abeer Soofi
was one of them. The count was later then shot down to 300 and from that 3 people were short listed
and finally he was amongst the top runners. Abeer had to go under mock trials
over and over again thrice.When
contacted, Abeer Soofi he confirmed, “Yes, I am playing the role of Sai Baba in
the show ‘Mere Sai’ on Sony Entertainment Television. It was way beyond
challenging as I had played negative and comic roles earlier and playing Sai
was a completely different experience. However everything just fell in place
and I hope viewers will like this new avatar of me. It is an important role and
I am putting my best foot forward to do complete justice.”
