Actress Yami Gautam who recently wrapped up the
shooting for Shree Narayan Singh's social drama film Batti Gul Meter Chalu
alongside Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha is all set to do more for Mother Nature.
Yami who hails from the scenic mountain state of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh,
the region that is well known for lush forests, snow-capped mountains, valleys
of flowers and pristine watered rivers. The place holds a lot of significance
for Yami who never misses a chance to go back whenever she isn't shooting.
Himachal Pradesh, like a lot of other states, has
been grappling with the pesticides and chemical coated vegetables as well. Yami
who has always been vocal about choosing the organic way of living not just
with her food but her beauty regimen also decided to take matters into her own
hands and has been planning to set up a greenhouse at the home in Himachal. The
actress aims to have an organic garden with her choice of fruits, vegetables
and flowers growing. Apart from which she will also plant trees all around the
garden to help the growing air population issues in the area. She aims to take
it one step further by requesting other houses in the neighbourhood to also
plant a few trees as well. We love the stance Yami is taking with regards to her
organic living and hope the greenhouse flourishes so she has delicious
chemical-free meals right from her garden, whenever she goes home on holiday.
When asked Yami, she said "There is already a
plantation at my place in Bilaspur, Himachal. I want to ensure it's a process
that doesn't stop and am able to make it into an organic farm eventually. It is
something I am inspired to do. I want to ensure the place is just not bought
but it is utilised for something useful also it gives an opportunity to ensure
a chance to break away from the city life and reconnect to my pahadi
roots."
