Mothi Tichi Savli, Lata Mangeshkar’s Memoir to be
launched
Mothi Tichi Savli, a book on Lata Mangeshkar,
penned by her sister Meena Mangeshkar-Khadikar was announced at a press conference
at the Mangeshkar residence in Prabhu Kunj, Peddar Road. The book, based on the
life of Lata Mangeshkar, will bring to the readers, interesting anecdotes from
her life.
Organized by Hridayesh Arts, family members and
other dignitaries including Lata Mangeshkar’s brother and veteran music
director Hridaynath Mangeshkar and his son Adinath Mangeshkar, singer Usha
Mangeshkar, playback singer Meena Mangeshkar-Khadikar, President of Hridayesh
Arts – Avinash Prabhavalkar and the Publisher Appa Parchure graced the press
conference. The memoir will be published by Parchure Prakashan Mandir.
Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, also known as The
Nightingale of India, is the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her
outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian Cinema. Not
only the highest civilian award of India, she has also received the highest
French decoration, The Legion of Honour.
The official unveiling of the book will take place
on 28th September, 2018, at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi at an auspicious
ceremony in the hands of the Sumitra Mahajan, President – Lok Sabha; in
presence of Vinod Tawde, the Hon. Minister of Cultural Affairs & Minister
of Higher & Technical Education; Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare; Vidya
Vachispati, Chief Speaker; Dr. Shankar Abhyankar, Appa Parchure and Pravin
Joshi among many others. Following the book release, there will be a musical
programme, helmed by Avinash Prabhavalkar titled Anand Ghan, rendering the
Nightingale of India’s songs and musical compositions, set to vocals by Pandit
Hridaynath Mangeshkar with Usha
Mangeshkar, Vibhavari Apte, Madhura Datar, Sonali Karnik and Prajakta
Satardekar. The event is a Hridayesh Arts initiative.
