Siddharth Kumar Tewary's mythological show on the
greatest love story between Radha & Krishna has appealed to audience far
& wide across age groups despite its niche genre.
Storyteller Siddharth Kumar Tewary who put Indian
television on the world map with his historical mega series Porus selling it to
13 countries worldwide has created a ripple with his 4 month old show
RadhaKrishn.
It was a double whammy as Swastik's two shows
complete milestones this week - Chandragupta Maurya with 50 Episodes and
RadhaKrishn with 100 Episodes. Sumedh
Mudgalkar who plays Krishna excitedly shares, 'We've reached a milestone, we
have completed 100 episodes already but the freshness is intact. We still wake
up & look forward to come to the sets everyday because it is exciting work.
We are a one big happy family so work is not work anymore, there's no pressure.
We are away from the city here in Umargaon
for the last 6 months & in such circumstances, it is only human to
fall prey to work pressure, it is easy to stop loving the work & doing it
just because one has to but it is not the case here.'
Talking about the master storyteller, Sumedh
shares, 'Siddharth is the brainchild, the driving force behind RadhaKrishn.
This show has been made to reflect emotions, SKT has created a different world
altogether. There is so much we are learning everyday, we relate to the show
& that is why I believe audience are loving the show. The entire team of
Swastik has worked really hard for this show. I honestly had no idea that a
mythological show like RadhaKrishn will reach such heights where it is today.
The attention I'm getting is overwhelming. It keeps me going.'
It has been an eventful year for the creator who
has had a record breaking launch of 4 shows in a row. RadhaKrishn followed by
Chandragupta Maurya, Tantra & now his association with the world's biggest
NGO Bill & Melinda Gates foundation penning a show for them on urban
sanitation Navrangi Re!
Siddharth became the only Indian this year to bag
an award as the Best Director at the Asian Television Awards this year for
Porus!
