SHABNAM SAYED RE-ENTERS TELEVISION IN A NEW AVATAR IN ZEE'S HITLER DIDI

After a two-year long hiatus, Shabnam Sayed is all set to once again make her presence felt on the small screen in Zee TV's Hitler Didi. The talented actress, who carved a niche for herself with her popular roles in Jassi Jaise Koi Nahi, Milli and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, will be seen in a completely new avatar - as a young woman married to a much older husband.

“I play the wife of a person whose daughter is of my age,” says Shabnam. The character, she says, has a lot of grey shades and is interesting as well as challenging. “Usually, an older husband feels insecure when he is married to a younger woman,” opines Shabnam. “But in this case, it is my character who feels insecure in this relationship. Consequently, she becomes very possessive about him.” Besides the role’s complexity, another challenge is speaking in a different accent. “I am required to speak with a Bangla accent which has made things that much more challenging for me, as I am not familiar with the language. However, both the writer and director have helped me a lot in picking up the language and I don’t have any problem with it now.”

"I love women in Sarees" says Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor who stars opposite Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture feels the women are most sensuous in a saree and if it is a wet saree then more so. According to him,  women in saree are difficult to resist and are more attractive then women in western clothes.

He is especially appreciative of how Vidya looks in The Dirty Picture,  where she has carried off wearing clinging red saree with lot of oomph. Tusshar Kapoor also strongly feels that in Hindi Cinema most of the sensuous portrayals have been in sarees.

Local barber comes to Arjan's rescue

We all know the lengths an actor can go to, to get the perfect look for his role. So no wonder then, when Director Maqbool Khan of the forthcoming  ASA Production release - Lanka - wanted his actor Arjan Bajwa's look perfected to the tee. So while the cast of the film was shooting in Bijnor the
director went to the loacl barber and let him snip a few inches off his hair before Arjan got his manes chopped.  " I wanted the perfect look for his character, and when we were starting to shoot... I still wanted a little change in Arjan's style. So i looked for a local barber and tired him out. And have to say he was good...So i convinced Arjan to go for it too, " says the director.
Arjan Bajwa says, “It’s true that my look in the film is not styled by some renowned hair stylist as happens in most of the films. I was scared and of course very reluctant of getting a hair cut at some local salon, but trust me this is one of my best hair cuts and the experience
was amazing. If it wasnt for the film i would have never done something like this," says Arjan.

Rajshri Productions (P) Ltd.’s Jaana Pehchana set to regale land of raas and romance, Gujarat

It is a film made to capture the timeless essenceof love. It is also a modern, mature love story that has a quaint, old worldcharm to it. After tugging at their heartstrings and striking a nostalgic chordamong Mumbaikars, Rajshri Productions’ latest film, Jaana Pehchana, isnow all set for a grand release in Gujarat on November 18 at City Gold –Ahmedabad, Rajhans – Ahmedabad, Rajhans Prime – Surat, Rajhans Plex – Surat,Rajhans – Valsad, Rajhans – Nadiad, Milano - Bardoli.
The film revolves around the special and uniquerelationship between Asha (Ranjeeta), and Arun Mathur (Sachin). Asha, who is anauthor, has an uncanny resemblance to the late Lily, whom Arun loved as a youngcollegian. Asha walks into the life of Arun to write his biography. What followsfrom there is a contemporary love story with a beautiful blend of old schoolromance combined with young love.
Besides being a romantic film with a difference, JaanaPehchana has many other firsts to its credit. It is probably the firstHindi film where the lead stars as well as the music composer have returned tocast their spell under the same banner after three decades. It marks the returnof Rajshri’s ‘prodigals’, the evergreen Sachin Pilgaonkar and Ranjeeta. Theyare playing the lead in the film over 30 years after they first starred inRajshri’s Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se in the late ‘70s.
Not only that, it is also the first time thatSachin is helming a film for the banner that made him a huge star. “It was theunique concept of Jaana Pehchana which drew me to it, both as an actorand a director,” Sachin says.  “It is an emotional, sensitive, romantic and contemporary story-telling of the sort that has never been tackledin Indian cinema ever as it not only deals with Jaana Pehchana but alsowith Aakhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se. It was challenging to delve deep into thenuances of the relationship between the two protagonists,” he adds.
With the noted Ravindra Jain as the film’s musicdirector, Jaana Pehchana also marks the completion of Rajshri Production’s38 years of association with the veteran composer who is an integral part ofthe Rajshri banner.
Talking about his personal equation with thecomposer, Sachin says: “Ravindra Jain or Dadu, as we all call him, has been afather-figure to me ever since I did my first film with Rajshri. As you must beaware, the unforgettable songs of Geet Gaata Chal and Akhiyon Ke Jharokhon Seare still loved by people of every age. Absolutely nothing has changed sincethen. Dadu is still creating the same kind of magical music, which will beevident when the songs are released. And he is still a father-figure to me. Idon’t need to tell a legend like him what I want.”
