Two Mothers and other stories makes waves in Mumbai

Om Books International in association with Tryst released Khalid Mohamed’s Two Mothers and Other Stories on 5th April, 2012 at Phoenix Mills, Mumbai. This is the first collection of short stories by the eminent journalist, filmmaker and playwright.
Sonam Kapoor launched the book in Mumbai, and read out an extract from a story set in Chandni Chowk located in Delhi 6 -- which was also the backdrop of the film which instantly earned her the title of Masakali girl.
The evening witnessed an august gathering of authors, the film fraternity and the front runners of the society.
Bravely personal with quantum leaps into the imagination, Two Mothers and Other Stories by Khalid Mohamed, explores a variety of themes ranging from familial bonds, the lingering Indian royalty, and media stratagems to Mumbai’s fast-vanishing Zoroastrian Irani cafés and the bold new world of website sexual relationships. Unfailingly entertaining, his first collection of stories presents what it is like to be immersed in life with its inexhaustible twists, shocks and surprises.
Speaking at the book launch, Khalid Mohamed said, “I write about people because I miss them, people who are no longer with me. Writing is a way of preserving them in my life. The stories in the collection are nostalgic, a remembrance of things past. Located in diverse milieus and eras, they present characters who will always be within me, half-real, half-hypothesised. ”
Ajay Mago, Publisher, Om Books International said, “It has been an enriching experience to publish Khalid Mohamed’s Two Mothers and Other Stories. These stories are about inner conflicts, about growing up and the losses the process engenders. I would like to thank Sonam Kapoor for being here with us to launch this book and share the happiness with all of us present here.

Yash Raj Films' Ishaqzaade (Arjun Kapoor is touted to be the actor of this year, and he will have the biggest and sensational debut. )

Irony of Life...
They say that you get something and you loose something and no one can feel this more at this point than Arjun Kapoor. Ever since the trailer of his first film, Ishaqzaade, was out the guy has created sensation of sorts. He has found instant favor within and outside the industry but before he could even come to terms with it he has to go through the biggest personal loss of his life in the form of his mothers demise.
Pictures of him suggest that he is putting up a brave front but those close to him know that he was extremely close to his mother and he had got full support of his mother in the career choice that he had made.
Ishaqzaade promos have been very well received and have created a lot of excitement amongst youth, in fact after the trailer launch, the name Ishaqzaade and Arjun Kapoor started trending on the facebook and twitter.
We hear that he is back to work. Dubbing and post production had stalled, no one from production was in any hurry to ask him to come back. However Arjun Kapoor, is a thorough professional and didnt want to delay it at all.
Arjun Kapoor is touted to be the actor of this year, and he will have the biggest and sensational debut.
Yash Raj Films' Isaqzaade is slated to release in May and also it marks the debut of Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.
