Bow Wow! A park for pets!

Buddy, Tiny and Midnight shared space with Tito, Tony and Thunderstorm, while PC, Timepass and Snowbell looked on with happiness. And why not! For the city's first pet park opened its doors to them.
Thanks to the efforts of Meenakshi Thakur, a member of Ashoka Road Residents' Association (AARA), aided by Lajo Shahani, a movement to create a park for pets took root. And with the help of BMC and the pet lovers of Yari Road, a dumpyard became a haven for pets.
Director Ananth Mahadevan, who is the proud dad of the cockerspaniel Buddo, "trees and saplings were planted, people donated benches and the whole thing snowballed to become a reality.  It was very heartening."
Mahadevan is all praises for Meenakshi Thakur. The inauguration saw Jackie Shroff, Gul Panag, Murli Sharma, Gary Richardson, Ananth Mahadevan, Kunika Lall and a host of other celebs in attendance.
Says Meenakshi Thakur, "I am very touched by the turnout. I am so happy for the pets. I would like this to be a beginning of a happy journey for our pets who enrich our lives so much."

VEENA MALIK WARDROBE MALFUNCTION

पिछले दिनों वीणा मालिक अपनी डेबू  फिल्म दाल में कुछ काला है के प्रमोशन के सिलसिले बाबी  डार्लिंग  के  साथ दिल्ली आयीं थीं। उन्होंने जो शोर्ट पहन रखी थी, वह वार्डरोब malfunction का नज़ारा दे रही थी। स्टेज पर पत्रकारों के सामने बैठी वीणा मालिक की सफ़ेद पेंटी उनकी शोर्ट के नीचे से झांक रही थी। उपस्थित पत्रकारों और फोटोग्राफरों  ने इसका खूब नज़ारा किया। उनके इस पोज के खूब फोटो खींचे गए. बाबी डार्लिंग से बात करने में मशगूल वीणा का ध्यान इस और नहीं था। लेकिन, जब उन्होंने खुसुर पुसुर कुछ ज्यादा सुनी तो वह पत्रकारों की और देखने लगीं .

इसी बीच उनके साथियों में से किसी ने वीणा का ध्यान इस malfunction की और आकृष्ट किया। यह सुनते ही वीणा मालिक सतर्क हो गयीं। अब  तक  आराम से  बैठीं वीणा मालिक ने अपने  घुटने जोड़ लिए और वह दोनों  हाथ घुटनों पर रख कर पत्रकारों से बातें करनी लगी। अब यह बात दूसरी हैं कि  तब तक वीणा मालिक  malfunction के काफी फोटो लिए जा चुके थे।   

Snoop Dog arrested in Norway

Snoop Dogg was detained in Norway yesterday (28.06.12) after entering the country with eight grams of marijuana.

The 'Drop it Like it's Hot' hitmaker reportedly arrived at Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand with the drugs, which were detected by a sniffer dog, and 224,500 kroner (£24,000) in cash, 196,000 kroner (£21,000) above the legal limit.

A customs official said the rapper was fined 52,000 kroner (£5,500) for the violations, and local laws state people carrying anything less than 15 grams is merely punishable by a fine.

Snoop - whose real name is Calvin Broadus - was in the country to perform at the Hove festival last night in the southern town of Kristiansand.

But it's not the first time this year that the 40-year-old rapper has been busted for drugs after he was arrested at Sierra Blanca, Texas in January at a border control checkpoint - the same one where country singer Willie Nelson was busted in 2010 - when a sniffer dog found marijuana on his tour bus.

And Snoop has previously claimed he wants to speak to US President Barack Obama in a smoky room and ask him to legalise marijuana.

He said: "Before I even said, 'Hi', to President Obama, I would change the aroma of the room.
