SONY ATV finally takes control of Michael Jackson's catalogue

Sony/ATV - co-owned by the Michael Jackson Estate - is to finallytake control of Michael Jackson's own back catalogue after signing a deal withthe legendary artist's Mijac Music.
Although Sony/ATV is co-owned by the Sony Corporation and the Estateof Michael Jackson, until now Jackson's own compositions have been handled byWarner/Chappell under a previously signed deal. With this new worldwideadministration agreement in place, Sony/ATV will now look after classic songspenned by him such as Bad, Beat It, Black And White, Don't Stop 'Til You GetEnough, I Just Can't Stop Loving You and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin as well assongs by other writers in the catalogue. These includes Sly and the FamilyStone songs, works by Philadelphia Records founders Kenneth Gamble andLeon Huff and songs made famous by artists such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presleyand Aretha Franklin.
Sony/ATV chairman and CEO Marty Bandier said: "We are thrilledthat the Estate of Michael Jackson has entrusted us with this incrediblecatalogue of songs, and everyone at Sony/ATV looks forward to findinginnovative ways to use these songs, while protecting their legacy."
The Estates of Michael Jackson's co-executors John Branca and JohnMcClain said in a statement: “Michael’s songs in the Mijac Music catalog notonly showcase his greatness as a performer but also his creative genius as asongwriter. We are excited that the company Michael helped found, Sony/ATVMusic Publishing, and in which his Estate remains a 50% partner, will representthese amazing songs along with a rich collection of other music recorded bysome of our greatest popular artists.”
Sony/ATV's deal comes ahead of the 25th anniversary roll-out onSeptember 18 of BAD25, a new two-disc package and CD of Jackson's Bad album.All Jackson's songs on the album are part of the new deal, which also givesSony/ATV access to classics such as the McFadden & Whitehead disco classicAin't No Stoppin' Us Now, Great Balls Of Fire, (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me)Higher and Higher, I Gotta Woman, If You Don't Know Me By Now, People et Ready,Mr Bonjangles, Shake Rattle and Roll, When A Man Loves A Woman and TheWanderer.

Salman Inspired ZillaGhaziabad’s Director to name his Son ‘tiger’

Director Anand Kumar had doublereason to celebrate the festival of Eid this year. Coincidently, Anand’s wifegave birth to a baby boy on the very special and auspicious day of Eid. Quiteinterestingly, the name of the baby is inspired from none other thanBollywood’s heartthrob Salman Khan.

फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री में जहाँ अभिनेत्रियाँ अपने फैशन, करियर, बॉयफ्रेंड और खुद के आगे कभी सोचती नहीं हैं वहीँ एक ऐसी अभिनेत्री है जिसमें ये दम है कि वो सच्चाई और नाइंसाफी के खिलाफ खड़ी हो सके. और वो अभिनेत्री और कोई नहीं बल्कि प्रियंका चोपड़ा है.  प्रियंका ने ये आवाज़ २५ साल की पल्लवी पुरकायस्थ के लिए उठाई है जिसकी हाल ही में हत्या कर दी गयी. प्रियंका अपनी फ़िल्म डॉन २ के वक़्त पल्लवी से मिली भी थी. लेकिन प्रियंका उसकी हत्या के बारे में इसलिए नहीं बोल रही है कि वो उनसे मिल चुकी . उसकी जगह कोई भी लड़की रहती तो वो इसी कदर उस बात पर सवाल उठती. ये इतनी बड़ी घटना थी लेकिन किसी ने इसके बारे में एक चूँ तक नहीं की. प्रियंका ने बहुत ही बड़ा सवाल खड़ा कर दिया है उन लोगों पर जो अभी तक इस मुद्दे पर चुप्पी साधे हुए थे. उन्हें विश्वास नहीं हो रहा है कि इतनी बड़ी बात पर लोग चुप कैसे रह सकते हैं. बौलीवुड मुंबई का अहम् हिस्सा है. ये मुंबई के बीचों बीच बसता है. लेकिन फिर भी किसी ने इस बारे में कुछ नहीं कहा जो कि काफी हैरान जनक था. प्रियंका मुंबई की सभी लड़कियों की आवाज़ बनकर सामने आई हैं.
पल्लवी, जो कि फरहान अख्तर और रितेश सिधवानी के प्रोडक्शन हाउस की कानूनी सलाहकार थी, ९ अगस्त को उनके वडाला घर में लगभग डेढ़ बजे उनके चौकीदार ने उनकी हत्या कर दी घर में घुस कर. चौकीदार सज्जद अहमद मुग़ल ने बड़ी ही बेरहमी से पल्लवी का कत्ल कर दिया वो भी सिर्फ इसलिए क्यूंकि उसे पल्लवी ने दांत लगा दी थी किसी वजह से.

प्रियंका का कहना है कि मुंबई में अब कोई भी लड़की खुद को सुरक्षित महसूस नहीं करती हैं. मुंबई जो कि सबसे सुरक्षित शहरों में गिना जाता था, वो बात तो अब रही ही नहीं. इस मायानगरी में जहाँ लोग खासकर लड़कियां जो बड़े बड़े सपने लेकर आती हैं वो शायद ऐसा कदम उठाने से पहले दस बार सोचेगी. आखिरकार सपनों से बड़ी जान होती है. जब जान ही गवा दी तो सपने कहाँ पूरे होंगे. प्रियंका ने ये आवाज़ २५ साल की पल्लवी पुरकायस्थ के लिए उठाई है जिसकी हाल ही में हत्या कर दी गयी. प्रियंका अपनी फ़िल्म डॉन २ के वक़्त पल्लवी से मिली भी थी. लेकिन प्रियंका उसकी हत्या के बारे में इसलिए नहीं बोल रही है कि वो उनसे मिल चुकी . उसकी जगह कोई भी लड़की रहती तो वो इसी कदर उस बात पर सवाल उठती.
 प्रियंका ने बताया "जब मैंने मुंबई में अपना कदम रखा था तब बाकायदा १७ साल की थी. बतौर पेयिंग गेस्ट रहती थी यहाँ पर. कुछ वक़्त बिताने के बाद मैंने महसूस किया कि इस शहर में डरने वाली कोई बात नहीं है. यहाँ तो हर कोई आज़ाद है. किसी चीज़ का खौफ नहीं. और मुंबई ने मुझे अपना सपना पूरा करने की पूरी आज़ादी दे दी थी. ऐसा कुछ नहीं था जो मैं कर नहीं सकती थी. कोई भी  वक़्त, कहीं भी, किसी भी यातायात से अकेले यात्रा करने से या रहने में ज़रा भी हिचकिचाहट नहीं होती थी. मुंबई शायद मेरे लिए स्वतंत्र होने का दूसरा नाम था. वहीँ जब मैंने पल्लवी के बारे में सुना तो मैं हैरान रह गयी कि ऐसी कोई चीज़ मुंबई में हो सकती है."
प्रियंका का मानना है कि अचानक से ऐसा लग रहा है कि स्वतंत्र महिलाओं से किसी ने उनकी आज़ादी छीन ली हो. यहाँ पर कुछ भी सुरक्षित नहीं लगता है अब. और ये बात एक औरत ही अच्छे से समझ पायेगी. कितनी लड़कियां यहाँ पर अपने पढ़ाई और काम की वजह से अकेले रहती हैं. इसका दुष्प्रभाव सिर्फ उनपर ही नहीं बल्कि उनके माँ बाप पर भी कई गुना ज्यादा पड़ेगा जो कि अपनी बेटियों को अकेले मुंबई जा कर रहने की इजाज़त देते हैं. मुंबई जो कि कभी सबके सपनों की आशा होती थी अचानक से वो भरोसा गायब होते नज़र आ रहा है. प्रियंका कभी किसी मुद्दे पर जल्दी अपनी प्रतिक्रिया नहीं देती हैं. अगर इस मसले पर उन्होंने अपनी आवाज़ उठाई है तो ज़ाहिर सी बात है कि उन्हें ये घटना बेहद आहत कर गयी है. और ये वाकई में बेहद संजीदा मुद्दा है जिस पर सवाल उठाने की बहुत ज़रुरत थी.
