PRAYAS’s initiative for skill development and empowerment of youth in Naxal affected areas

PRAYAS, one of India’s leading voluntary organizations for the marginalized children, youth and women, organised a colorful musical evening at ITC Maurya, New Delhi on Sunday, 14^th October, 2012. The event coincided with a major promotional corporate partnership to support skill development and empowerment of the Naxalite affected youth in many parts of the country which will be supported by a leading entrepreneur Mr. A.M. Shroff and his group.

Prayas President Mr. Shatrughan Sinha, MP and former Health Minister of India, an outstanding humanist and activist, was joined by the General Secretary of Prayas Mr. Amod K. Kanth and many eminent personalities from the cross-sections incliuding Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, his wife & prominent Media Personality Mrs. Anuradha Pradas and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor and his wife Mrs. Sundanda Tharoor. The added charm at the evening was the charity performance rendered by country’s most popular comic artist Mr. Raju Srivastava. They were joined by the most talented Prayas children performers who, together, put up a brilliant presentation.

Prayas, which operates in eight States/UT’s of India accessing nearly 50,000 extremely deprived beneficiaries, imparting them with education, vocational, health, homes, shelter, and economic empowerment related services, which includes a major project which has recently been taken up in the Naxalite affected areas of the country. The effort is to bring about peace, happiness and solidarity converging the government, non government and the corporate.

Mr. Shroff and his colleagues Mr. Sandeep Sharma and Mr. Sanjay Mattoo have expressed their unqualified support to this project and to the Prayas Family.

On this occasion General Secretary of Prayas Mr. Amod K. Kanth said, “We are extremely happy to launch promotional corporate partnership to support skill development and empowerment of the Naxalite affected youths by converting them into self-reliant and productive entities. Through our voluntary organization, Prayas that operates in eight states running over 200 community-based centres for the poor, cutting across the country from Andaman & Nicobar Islands to Arunachal Pradesh, we intend to bring about the change in the lives of the marginalized sections of the society who have little opportunity to become part of the remarkable economic prosperity that this country is witnessing. Our SGSY special project in close collaboration with the local government and Panchayats in the most difficult areas, run by a team of highly professional managers, trainers, community - mobilizers and other staff, is bound to create a real and holistic difference in the communities whom we serve.

About PRAYAS programs

Prayas today undertakes various programs and functions through 236 community-based centers, with an outreach of 50,000 beneficiaries, of which over 15,000 of them are youth and women. Prayas offers around 50 courses ranging from Carpentry to Computer. Prayas offers an opportunity for the trainees of Vocational Training Programmes to polish their skills through practice and have hand on experience of a business enterprise. The On Job Training at Production Centers help in the placements as well. Prayas is committed to provide placement linked time bound training to 2000 BPL youth/women under the age of 18-35 in the pilot project and place them in the decent jobs at minimum wages.

The Cast and crew of film ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’ addressed the media in Noida

The entire cast and crew of Vashu bhagnani’s upcoming flick ‘Ajab Gazzab Love’ was in the capital to promote their Ajab Gazaab love story. From the film’s director Sanjay Gadhvi to its music Director Sajid-Wajid, they all just couldn’t stop Booming at the recently held press conference of the film at the Spice World Mall in Noida. Producer Vashu Bhagnani, Sanjay Gadhvi, Jackky Bhagnani, Nidhi Subbaiah and Sajid-Wajid interacted with media and shared their experiences while working on film.

Jackky who looked super cool with in his 6 packs said loosing that much weight was not an easy job for him. Non-stop workouts, full check on diet and exercise, is what finally helped him get rid of all the flab. Talking about his upcoming film being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi that also stars Nidhi Subbaiah, he says that it has been a fantastic experience working on a romcom."After Ajab Gazabb Love, I'm doing Rangrezz, so I am happy with the kind of films I am doing and I only hope to grow with each film," says Jackky.

The song ‘Boom Boom’, who is already topping the charts, was the center of all questions being asked to the entire team. The duo Sajid-Wajid shared their experience of working with Jackky & Vashu Bhagnani as a team.

It is the first romantic comedy film being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi who has earlier directed action films like Dhoom and Dhoom 2.

Puja Entertainment And Films Ltd presents AJAB GAZABB LOVE, a romantic comedy, which is all set to hit the screens on 24th October 2012. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani the film is directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. The film stars Jackky Bhagnani, Nidhi Subbaiah in lead roles, Arjun Rampal in a cameo and Darshan Jariwala and Kirron Kher in supporting roles. Music of the film is given by composer duo Sajid-Wajid and lyrics penned by Priya Panchal & Kausar Muneer.

Yasmeen Khan is All Ready To Play Negative Roles In Daily Soaps

Actress Yasmeen Khan went on to star in many movies. Yasmeen didn’t have a highly successful stint as heroine and slowly retreated from films. After a break of four years, she is now coming back as an actress in negative looks on small-screen.

When Interview with Actress Yasmeen Khan Said:

“I have been an actress for the past Eight years now. I know nothing other than acting. I don’t differentiate between small screen and big screen. In both the version, I feel that an actress’ job is to emote in front of the camera. I want to remain happy irrespective of wherever I am. I think many hours of my life at the shooting spot than I spend at my house.

“I didn’t have any inkling that the serial would have such a large ‘reach’. I haven’t played any negative roles in films and trying it for the first time on small screen now. It’s indeed a novel experience for me. My mother watches the serial everyday and points out whatever mistakes I might have made in portraying my character. Given a choice, I’d love to play negative roles in films too,” concludes Yasmeen.
