From a fearless prince to a dancer!

Abhimanyu Singh, the famous Ransa Singh (the fearless prince) from Gulaal, was seen trying to impress his director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of Ram Leela with his dance moves (with garba as the dance form). He has never really done a full fledged dance performance in a film before, and thus this is almost like his first attempt. He failed initially but practiced day and night to perfect his dance steps to impress his director and he succeeded in doing so the next day when SLB saw the improvement in Abhimanyu.

He is also playing the role of the cop in the sequel of Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai which was originally played by Randeep Hooda . He along with Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan (who are seen playing the gangsters in the film) are the main cast of the film.

Abhimanyu is now all set to take on more important and leading roles in Bollywood. He is an extremely popular and successful actor in the south as well, with his roles in movies like Bejawada, Nenu Naa Rakshasi and the Telugu remake of Dabangg named Gabbar Singh

 

Gracy Singh and sufi singer Mudasir Ali support Sanyog, an exhibition initiative by 32 artists, aims to be the flame that lights up farmers’ lives

"Artists, I don’t believe, are normal people They are people who get both affected and inspired by the happenings in this world. Hence it is no surprise that over 32 artists have come together with a painting exhibition of varied works, aptly titled Sanyog, to help the farmers of Maharashtra. Hence I decided to lend my support to the cause," says actor Gracy Singh, who along with sufi singer Mudasir Ali inaugurated the exhibition at Coomaraswamy Hall, Chattrapati Shivaji Sangrahalaya.

Says Satish Patil, whose brainchild has given birth to this movement, “we are simple artists, not some social organisation that can collect millions. What we aspire to do is to simply get our works together and give the proceeds to help farmers in whatever way we can. I am so glad that Gracy Singh and Mudasir Ali are standing by us for this cause. ”

It was actually a thought that was ruminating in Satish’s mind for long. Says he, “I discussed it with my friends, and they in turn discussed with their friends and soon we had a movement."

Fellow artists AJ Moujan, Amit K Patil, Aparna Telang, Ashok Hiremath, Deepika Garg, Dinesh Pimple, Dundamahadevaswamy, Gangadhar M, Govardhan K, Jagdish Kadur, Kalipada Purkait, Kishor R Kamble, Kupanna Kandgal, Manish A Hatkar, MD Hussen, Nandkumar Mestry, Nandita Desai, Prabhakar Wairkar, Rahul N Dangat, Ramakrishna Nayak, Ruma Nayak, Ramagiri P Patil, Spoorthy Murali, Satish B Patil, Santosh Kotagir, Sanjoy Mal, Sharanu Alloli, Satyendra Rane, Sharappa N Muddagoll, Sujit K More, Vishwanath S Raddewadagi and Yogesh D Murkute chipped in and soon, the dream was a reality. Satish is very happy as he is adding finishing touches to his work as we speak. Three children each on a staircase seem to be staring at us, signifying the strength of the artists joining forces. Says he, “it could have never been done by me alone. Each artist with his work, whether abstract, realistic, contemporary or figurative, has added his own touch and most importantly has listened to the sound of his heart. That is what the essence of Sanyog is."

When you appreciate the effort, Satish prefers to be straight and to the point, “It is not large or something out of the world, our thought... It is something that I think everyone of us should think about and put into action,” says Satish as he speaks of his painter friends. “If each of us opens our hearts and pockets, there would be no starving farmer in India.”

Sanyog is on at Coomaraswamy Hall, Prince of Wales Museum, Fort, from 26^th April to 28^th April.

Music director Mithoon records exclusive theme music on piano for film Aashiqui 2

The mesmerising anthem of the year 'TUM HI HO' by Mithoon is not the only addictive factor in the film Aashiqui 2...Apparently Mithoon has also composed an exclusive love theme for the film and it is a part of the OST.It is a piano recital and is said to be on par with legendary themes of epic films like Love Story and Godfather..It is learnt that director Mohit Suri was so touched by this theme that he has used it all through the film as its emotional pulse..Mithoon himself has performed it on a live piano since he is a trained pianist himself and wanted to be a concert performer in his school days..We can surely say that Mithoon is setting new standards in the world of Bollywood film music.

शराब में डूबे युवा की मौत कहानी आशिकी 2

आज आशिकी 2 देखी। कैसी लगी नहीं बताऊँगा। युवाओं की फिल्म है। मैं युवा नहीं। आशिकी 2 से जुड़े तमाम लोग युवा है। निर्देशक मोहित सूरी 32 साल के हैं। हीरो आदित्य रॉय कपूर 27 साल के हैं। हीरोइन श्रद्धा कपूर भी उनकी हम उम्र हैं। सबसे उम्र दराज़ लेखिका शगुफ्ता रफीक थीं। सिनेमा हाल में बैठे तमाम लाँड़े लौंडियाँ युवा थी। यह युवा इस लिहाज से थे कि फिल्म शुरू होते ही अर्थात सिनेमाहाल में अंधेरा छाते ही, यह उन्मुक्त जोड़े फिल्म देखने के बजाय अपने प्रेम इज़हार में मशगूल हो जाते। फिल्म एक गायक आरजे की है, जिसके सर पर सफलता चढ़ गयी है। वह शराब पीने लगता है, झगड़ा मारपीट जिसका शगल है। वह शो बीच में छोड़ सकता है। एक बार में गाते हुए उसे एक लड़की मिलती है। जो उसी के गीत को उससे अच्छा गा रही है। वह लड़की आवाज़ से प्रभावित होता है और उसे गायिका के रूप में स्थापित करने का बीड़ा उठता है और बना भी देता है। दोनों एक दूसरे को प्यार करने लगते है। वह शादी करना चाहते हैं। पर एक आदमी की बात सुन कर कि वह उस लड़की का खाएगा, उसे शराब पीकर मारेगा, लड़की उसकी उल्टियाँ साफ करेगी, लड़का लड़की की ज़िंदगी से निकाल जाना चाहता है। लड़की लाख चाहती है कि वह पीना छोड़ दे और गाना फिर शुरू कर दे। लेकिन पता नहीं क्यों वह भकुवा लौंडा किस गम में डूबा है कि शराब पीना नहीं छोड़ता। ऐसे में, जब लड़की उसको नहीं छोड़ती तो लौंडा आत्महत्या कर लेता है।
पूरी फिल्म में हाल में बैठे लड़के लड़कियां एसी का मज़ा लेते हुए एक दूसरे में जूझे हुए थे, मैं सोच रहा था कि यह हमारे देश के युवा की कहानी है! यानि अगर वह सफल होगा तो शराब पीने लगेगा, अपने काम में कोताही बरतेगा। कोई प्यार और सहारा मांगे तो देगा नहीं आत्महत्या कर लेगा। अबे साले हिंदुस्तान के युवा! तू बलात्कार करने में तेज़ है, क्योंकि तुझे महेश भट्ट और मुकेश भट्ट जैसे निर्माता मिले हैं और मोहित सूरी जैसे भटके निर्देशक। शगुफ्ता रफीक से ही ऐसी कहानी की उम्मीद की जा सकती है, जो पूर्व बार डांसर थीं। उनकी सोच कुछ दूसरी नहीं हो सकती। उनके संसार के युवा ऐसे ही पलायनवादी होते होंगे।
इसलिए, कोई शक नहीं अगर हमारे देश के युवाओं को फिल्म पसंद आ जाए। कम से कम सिनेमहल में बैठ कर मेहबूबा के साथ इत्मीनान से रोमैन्स तो किया जा सकता है। क्यों कि सिनेमाघर के अंधेरे हम्माम में सभी नंगे ही तो बैठे होते हैं।
फिल्म में उभर कर आई है पुराने जमाने के विलेन शक्ति कपूर की बेटी श्रद्धा कपूर। वह खूबसूरत भी है और टेलेंटेड भी।
