Kiran Bedi witnessed the special screening of the film “Calapor” at Film Division auditorium

 

Kiran Bedi attended the special screening of the film “Calapor” before its release at film Division auditorium, New Delhi. On the occasion of special screening beautiful Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta , Producer, A. Durga Prasad and Director, Dinesh P. Bhosle were also present.

This was the special screening, especially organised for some close friends and Kiran Bedi as the film is based on prisoners. In interview when someone asked the director, Dinesh P. Bhosle that why they have organised the special screening in Delhi, So, He answered, “This film is based on the prisoners, and cultural activities in prison as I always wanted to  make a film on such issue and this is why I first showed it Kiran Bedi as she is the one who initiated such activities and seen the life of prisoners very closely.”

Kiran Bedi also added, “There should be a separate jail for all the corrupt politicians but unfortunately they will escape it easily. After 50 years a film like “calapor” is made which depicts the story of people behind the bars after an old black & white film “do aankhein baarrah hath”, I personally liked the film, is only because of the superb story which slowly unfolds many layers of truth but at right time and ends with a social message. The strong point of the film is its Story and the film is directed very nicely.”

Versatile Bengali Actress Rituparna Sengupta was looking very beautiful and is playing lead in the film opposite to Priyanshu Chatterjee.

“Calapor” is a modern story of reformation. The Film provokes thoughts about the nature of human being while infusing hope that there is good in every human being.

HARLEQUIN INDIA (Makers of Mills and Boon) COLLABORATES WITH MARUTI INTERNATIONAL’S UPCOMING MOVIE- ‘GRAND MASTI’

Maruti International is teaming up with Harlequin India for a first of a kind content partnership to feature the characters of its blockbuster movie franchise - 'Masti' & now ‘Grand Masti’ in an exciting book. For the first time ever in Bollywood, this International publishing house has licensed the character rights of a feature film!!! 

In 2004, Masti, a film directed by Mr. Indra Kumar, set the trend of adult-comedy in Bollywood. Taking forward the legacy of this brand, Bollywood's current hot topic of Adultery is presented once again by him in a new and refreshing light, in the much-awaited sequel - 'Grand Masti'. This light hearted comedy is like a breath of fresh air deviating from serious cinema, taking adult-comedy many notches higher than its original flick. The film's exciting trailer will also be unleashed this week on the internet!! 

Commenting on the tie up Ashok Thakeria says, “We are humbled & privileged that the international publishing house behind 'Mills& Boon', have chosen Grand Masti to enter the Bollywood arena, by licensing the character rights of a film for the first time, under their 'Spice' imprint. The tie up between Harlequin and Grand Masti is a boon to the series as well as to the readers of the book. On one hand we are going to have an increased audience, fans of the film’s franchise will also be turning pages in the bargain and that I think is important today for people not to let go of reading habits,” says Thakeria.   

As part of this tie-up, both teams are announcing the “Grand Masti Fun & Fabulous Author” contest, which is looking for new authors to submit a fun original short story, featuring any one or all three of the movie’s main characters. Two winning entrants will receive a gift hamper and have a chance to get their short story included in the e-book version, to be released globally. The print book will be available across the Indian sub-continent. 

 “The Harlequin-Grand Masti tie-up is the first of its kind partnership, aimed at taking story content across platforms and build upon the synergies of the cinematic and narrative fiction genres and to reach out to more consumers”, says Amrita Chowdhury, Harlequin India’s Country Head & Publishing Director. 

"The book ‘Grand Masti: The Fun Never Ends’ will feature fun, rib-tickling and excitement-filled escapades of the three main characters of the film- Amar, Meet and Prem, played by Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani on screen. The movie franchise has been dubbed as India’s first adult comedy, on the lines of Hollywood blockbusters such as the American Pie series and The Hangoverseries. The book will be published by Harlequin under its Spice imprint & it has been written by author Neha Puntambekar." She adds

Harlequin and Maruti International are inviting aspiring authors to enter the “Grand Masti Fun & Fabulous Author” contest to submit their original story between July 18th 2013 and 3PM IST on July 24^nd 2013. “The idea of this web contest is to offer the loyal fans of this franchise, movie-goers and book-readers a deeper engagement with the characters of the film,” says Amrita Chowdhury, Country Head and Publishing Director at Harlequin India.  

“The e-book format really explodes the geographic boundaries for a writer, and makes the story available to readers around the world. Primarily for Indian authors and Bollywood-related books, we expect to see huge interest in the diaspora readers in the various global markets where the movie will be released.” 

“If the story idea is fabulous and workable, we don’t mind making a film that emanates from the idea,” promises ace director Indra Kumar. 

So for the audiences it is time to watch movies, read books and write stories. That’s surely a lot of Grand Masti!!!

Short films find theatres, thanks to Anurag Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap could well be the biggest trendsetter in India. For his collection of short films with Tumbhi titled Shorts, soon to release in the theatres on July 12 seems a new crop of young directors, supported by able actors touching the silver screen.

Interestingly, it is the interest of the actors in promoting and participating in such films that makes the difference to differential entertainment hitting the marquee.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadda and Vineet Singh have all gone out of their way to be present at the promotions of Shorts, knowing that it is a limited PVR-Cinemax release.

“It is important that such talent be given the opportunity” says Nawaz simply. Adds Huma, “we knew these films may be hitting the festival circuits only but we wanted to very much be a part of it.”

Adds Richa, “my film is a silent film and there was so much scope for me to act. I loved every moment.” Most of these actors have all won awards for these films at various Festival across the globe, thus strengthening their faith in Anurag’s movement, with dynamic maker Guneet Monga’s support.

While on one hand Anurag seems to be spearheading the movement for such films to hit the marquee, there is an influx of fresh talent that is hitting Bollywood, thanks to these festival films.

There is young Hemwant Tiwari who may not have a godfather like Anurag but is yet talked about as “waiting to be discovered”, having made his mark with Bobby Pushkarna’s Zindagi Bahut Khoobsoorat Hai at Cannes, and there is Nimrat Kaur who shone amid talents like Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin in Lunchbox to name just two.

Says Hemwant, “my film sees my journey from negativity to positivity where I do not utter a word. It wasn’t easy to play a character like that. Full credits to my director Bobby Pushkarna for bringing out the best in me. And when you get lauded in a platform like Cannes, it is much more than just a morale booster.”

While the youngsters are excited and the actors are supportive, Anurag Kashyap simply moves on as though this is simply what should have been done. If only there were others his ilk. India would see many more such talent waiting in the wings soar and touch the skies!

इस बात में कोई शक नहीं की प्रोडूसर डायरेक्टर अनुराग कश्यप बॉलीवुड के ट्रेंड शेटर हैं. जी हाँ, अनुराग कश्यप बॉलीवुड में एक और ट्रेंड शेट करने जा रहे हैं शार्ट फिल्मों का,  आने वाली फिल्म शॉर्ट्स के साथ जिसका निर्माण उन्होंने प्रोडक्शन कंपनी 'तुमभी' के साथ मिलकर किया है. वैसे आपको बता दें कि फिल्म शॉर्ट्स १२ जुलाई को रिलीज़ होने जा रही है , जिसमें पांच अलग - अलग  कहानियों को पांच अलग-अलग  यंग डायरेक्टर्स ने डायरेक्ट किया है। फिल्म  'शॉर्ट्स' में नवाज़ुदीन , हुमा  कुरैशी ,ऋचा चड्ढा ,विनीत सिंह जैसे मंझे हुए सितारे नज़र आयेंगे , फिल्म प्रमोशन में भी इन सितारों का पुरा सपोर्ट मिल रहा है.  शॉर्ट्स को लेकर नवाज़ का कहना है की इस तरह की फिल्मों से यंग टैलेंट को उभरने का मौका मिलता है , वही शॉर्ट्स में अपने कैरेक्टर को लेकर ऋचा भी काफी खुश हैं ,ऋचा का  कहना है कि उनकी फिल्म 'एपिलोग' एक  साइलेंट फिल्म है, ऐसे में उनके पास एक्ट करने का पूरा मौका था। गौरतलब है कि अनुराग कश्यप ने शार्ट फिल्मों को अलग मुकाम दिया है ,और इस तरह की  फिल्मों से कई अनजाने चेहरों  को ग्लोबल पहचान मिली है। इन्ही में से ही एक नाम है हेमवंत तिवारी की जिन्हें भले ही बॉलीवुड में अनुराग कश्यप जैसा गॉड - फादर नहीं मिला , लेकिन  बॉबी पुस्कारना की फिल्म 'जिंदगी खुबसूरत है' से हेमवंत को  एक पहचान मिल गयी गयी है. गौरतलब की 'ज़िन्दगी खुबसूरत है' को कांस  फिल्म फेस्टिवल में  काफी सराहना मिली। हेमवंत के अलावा एक और नाम है जिनकी फिल्म 'लंचबॉक्स' की 'कांस'  फिल्म फेस्टिवल में स्पेशल  स्क्रीनिंग रखी गयी. जी हाँ, हम बात कर रहे हैं अभिनेत्री निमरत कौर की , इरफान खान और नवाज जैसे मंझे हुए सितारों के साथ निमरत ने फिल्म से अपनी एक खास पहचान बनायीं है. इस तरह की फिल्मो से  इन यंग टैलेंट्स को उभरने का मौका मिला है और बॉलीवुड के इस ट्रेंड को लेकर ये लोग खासे खुश हैं, वही अनुराग इस ट्रेंड को आगे ले जाना चाहते हैं अपनी आने  वाली फिल्म शॉर्ट्स के साथ , अनुराग के इस मूवमेंट में प्रोडूसर गुनीत मोंगा भी उनका पूरी तरह से साथ दे रहे हैं. फिल्म 'शॉर्ट्स' 12  जुलाई को रिलीज़ हो रही है,उम्मीद की  जानी चाहिए की फिल्म  शॉर्ट्स इस नए ट्रेंड को और आगे ले जायेगा।

Ravi Kishen to dance on O Meri Mata in Anaamika

The cast of the upcoming Bollywood film Bajatey Raho will feature in Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Anamika as part of the film’s promotional campaign. A special Maata ke Chowki sequence was shot where Ravi Kishen was at his witty best. He danced on devotional songs and completely got immersed in the Mata Ki Chowki.  Ravi Kishen danced and sang the popular song “O Meri Mata”from his upcoming movie Bajatey Raho with the star cast of Sony Entertainment’s popular show ‘Anamika’. The star cast  of Anaamika was equally enthusiastic in the company of Ravi Kishen and Vishakha.  The cast and crew were pleasantly happy on the hilarious tone of the song O Meri Mata. By end of it, there was an atmosphere of fun and frolic which is much contracting to the theme of this show.
