Live From the Console on July 27th features The Mavyns, a debut performanc​e by The Bicycle Days & Your Chin - solo by Raxit Tewari


On its 2nd birthday, LFTC is all set to treat music connoisseurs with a plethora of the best indie music.
The evening kick starts with Searching for Sugarman - a documentary film directed by Malik Bendjelloul, which details the efforts of two Cape Town fans, to find out whether the rumored death of American musician Sixto Rodriguez was true, and, if not, to discover what had become of him.  
Look out for a range of exhilarating performances followed by the documentary. It begins with Your Chin (electronica and indie-pop) solo project of Raxit Tewari, followed by a special debut performance by The Bicycle Days (psychedelic alternative rock). The night ends with an electrifying performance by the Mavyns (Rock / Folk Rock), who return to Live from the Console the 2nd time. So, don’t miss out on Live from the Console on Saturday, 27th July, 2013, 6.00PM onwards at the Recording Theatre, Mehboob Studio (Bandra West). South beckons Rakul Preet ahead of Bollywood debut Yaariyaan

 
Even before her Bollywood debut film Yaariyaan hits the marquee, new sensation Rakul Preet is already a rage in the South. 
Having acted in two movies down South, the newbie has been signed up for three more. Rakul will now be seen in the remake of the Telugu bumper hit Ala Modalaindi, being shot at breakneck speed. Here she stars opposite Gautam Karthik of Mani Ratnam’s Kadal fame. 
Following this is Aadi’s next titled Rough and then a yet untitled flick with Sundeep Kishan (of Shor In The City fame) being produced by Anandi Arts. 
Rakul is set to enter Bollywood with Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar, where she will be seen playing the role of a nerd; one who is very good with numbers. 
Coming from a family background of the Indian Army, Rakul won various titles in the Miss India pageant of 2011. 
She bagged Miss India People’s Choice, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Fresh Face, Miss Talented and emerged the third runner-up finalist. Soon after, she participated in Miss Tourism in China and rose to the sixth position in the international pageant.

MAX, the Premium Hindi movie channel, invites you to witness this year’s hit melodious love story for the first time on television. Watch ‘Aashiqui 2’ on Sunday 28th July 1pm & 8pm only on MAX.
Aashiqui 2 is a musical romantic centering on the turbulent relationship between two singers, Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Aarohi Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) which is affected by Rahul's issues with alcohol abuse and temperament.  Rahul spots Arohi’s passion of singing in a quaint little beer bar in Goa. He takes it upon himself to give her a break and make her an even bigger star than himself in the Hindi film industry. The duo falls in love following a chance turn of events. However RJ has a hard time coping with Arohi’s success.
When asked about his on screen look for Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapoor jokes “We tried a lot of crazy things for my look in the movie, from long hair to even straightening it. Generally the look for the girl takes time but for Aashiqui 2, Shraddha’s look was decided in 2 days, but for me it took a month.”  
In conversation when asked why Shraddha Kapoor thinks she is an Aashiq (romantic), she says “I wanted to do a romantic movie since a long time and was glad when Aashiqui 2 was offered to me. The film imbibes all the elements needed in romance and I hope someday in my real life also I can do something like this.

Ruslaan Mumtaaz small screen debut with Sony Entertainment Television's Jee le Zaraa

 
Ruslaan Mumtaz, the chocolate boy of Bollywood is all set to debut as a bratty lawyer in Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming show 'Jee Le Zara'. The talented actor, who also bagged a Filmfare nomination as a debutant, will be paired opposite Sangeeta Ghosh who shot to fame with her remarkable performances in earlier shows as the lead protagonist. Ruslaan will woo the audiences with his acting genius and appealing personality. The two individuals will be paired up for the very first time on the small screen as lead protagonists. Given Sangeeta’s talent and Ruslaan’s silver screen experience, the pair will definitely add in a unique chemistry to Indian Television.  
With this new show on the verge of being launched, could the duo of Ruslaan Mumtaaz and Sangeeta Ghosh be the next sought after on screen Jodi of Indian Television?

Apoorva Lakhia's ZANJEER based on Oil Mafia issue in the country!!

Director Apoorva Lakhia who has made some hard hitting films like ‘Ek Ajnabee’ and ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’, is back this time around with an exciting and contemporary adaptation of the 1973 cult film ‘Zanjeer’
Apoorva’s Lakhia’s Zanjeer is a modern high octane flick that deals with the much talked about Oil mafia issues of India! 
Commenting on Zanjeer, Apoorva said,  'We wanted to make the film realistic with current events in mind so when I was offered to remake Zanjeer, the Sonavane killing and the oil mafia was in the news, we decided to base the basic story structure around that as with research, we found the premise extremely interesting and ACP Vijay Khanna gets transferred to the yellow stone police station in Mumbai'
Zanjeer will have Telugu Superstar Ram Charan making his much anticipated high octane Bollywood debut with the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra opposite him. Priyanka Chopra essays the role of Mala, a Bollywood crazy, spunky NRI, naïve and innocent who comes to Mumbai for an wedding and becomes one of the prime witness. Ram Charan will be seen reviving the iconic character of an honest police officer ACP Vijay Khanna with the film set in today’s times revolving around the notorious dealings of the oil mafia.
We have also learnt that Slain ace journalist J-Dey's character is also woven in the film as in real life he was the journalist who is known to have lost his life while he was investigating in this oil mafia issue!
One will also see a rarely showcased realistic scenario in Zanjeer where gallons of Kerosene are being stolen from an oil tanker and are being sold for a large amount!!
Well, get set as the wheels have started rolling for this year’s high octane action saga aka Zanjeer which is all set to hit the screens on 6th September 2013!
