Ram Kapoor is a busy man, juggling films and advertisements with his serial, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (BALH). But he says that he is not going to leave Bade Achhe Lagte Hain for any movie or film offer coming in his way.
How are you feeling on the milestone achievement on completion of 500 episodes?
I am overwhelmed with the response that audience has given us. Completing 500 episodes is really a great achievement for the whole ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ team. I wish and pray to keep growing in the same flow and complete more 500 episodes. Every episode was an enjoyable experience for me. I love entire team of ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ and congratulate everyone for their equal support for getting this achievement. I would like to thank all my fans, the very supportive cast and crew, Sony Channel and an amazing production house for the immense support and appreciation.
What is the response for the recent time leap in BALH?
We have received an outstanding response on the leap. Viewers are quite amazed and loving the new track in the show. The show has attracted amazing young talent who has already win million hearts in the country. Looking at the audience love and support I am sure that Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ will succeed to complete more 500 episodes.
Once BALH ends; will you do another TV show?
Not really. Actually, I was supposed to do it only for a year, just like Ekta and I had decided. I had many films in hand and even turned her down initially. But the audiences liked it so much that I continued. It’s getting harder with every passing year to juggle it with films. I’m committed to BALH and I’d rather have it end than I leave it. I’ll never turn my back on TV, but post BALH, I won’t do more TV — for a while at least.
Do you credit TV or films for your success?
Ram Kapoor today is a household name due to TV. It has given me everything, no doubt. Through films, I reached urban audiences, while my TV fans are from the interiors.
What did you think of your wife Gautami's return to TV?
I'm happy for her as she was eager to return to acting. There were a few roles that had worked out, but I wanted her to be back with a bang, so I stopped her from taking those up. She is here finally, and I’m super-thrilled for her.
