THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2™ BESTS PREVIOUS RECORD WITH HIGHEST HOLLYWOOD BOX OFFICE OPENING OF ALL TIME IN INDIA

~ Grosses 41.7 crore in opening weekend ~

Bypassing the record set by its predecessor, The Amazing Spider-Man 2™ posted the highest opening in history for a Hollywood film in India. Sony Pictures India announced that the film grossed approximately INR 41.7 cr (USD 6.92 m) in its four day opening weekend starting May 1^st with a final tally of 1523 screens – the widest release ever for a Hollywood film. The film also  registered the highest ever opening day gross for any Hollywood title when it opened on Thursday May 1^st. It released in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and in 3D, 2D, IMAX 3D and in Dolby Atmos where available. 

Kercy Daruwala, Managing Director - Sony Pictures India said, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2 once again consolidates Spider-Man’s position as a franchise that cannot be beaten. We are happy to say that the film garnered unprecedented buzz in the weeks before release. We have taken a mass marketing approach to this film with some unique and very local innovations, further amplified with the invaluable support of the entire Sony group. Thanks to these innovations, the film has the fourth highest opening amongst all films, including local titles, released in India this year.”

“The film’s response has been excellent with many people calling it the best Spider-Man film ever and enjoying the spectacular 3D effects. We have some very good weeks ahead of us as we continue to reap the benefits of an open release period coupled with great word-of-mouth and repeat viewing,” he added.

 

Sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have already been announced for release in 2016 and 2018.

Arjun Kapoor starrer Tevar to release on 5th December 2014.

 Sanjay Kapoor Entertainment & Eros International's Tevar starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha is scheduled to release on  5th December 2014.

The film that went on floors earlier this year , will see its last schedule in Mumbai flag off on the 5th May and wrap up by the end of June in Benaras.

'Tevar' the remake of Telugu action film 'Okkadu' will mark the directorial debut of Amit Sharma.

Says producer Sanjay Kapoor, " We are very excited to announce that Tevar will release 5th December this year.Things are going on schedule and we are very happy with the progress on the film".

The session is aimed at increasing hip flexibility resulting in lower back pain release

The stress and activity of everyday life is often found lodged in the rigidity and discomfort of our hips. At Yoga 101 we will be hosting a workshop which will delve deeply into opening the hip area. Much like a lotus flower, the hips cannot be forced or cracked open. But given the right set of circumstances and a patient approach, the hips will release and open like a blooming flower!

This 90 minute workshop will be conducted by Sunaina Rekhi, a yoga teacher who has years of experience in the art of yoga and has travelled across the globe to learn and spread knowledge to others.

 

             The session will help to:-

·         Increase the range of motion in the hip joint and create fluidity in movement

·         Gain a greater understanding of the anatomy of your hips and will use standing, seated and supine postures to increase your range of motion in all directions

·         Stabilising the hips and lower spine and conditioning and releasing the muscles around these joints

·         Prevent undue pressure being placed on the knees and ankles.

·         Increasing hip flexibility will relieve lower back pain reducing the risk of injury and also strengthen the spine.

The location manager informed Sajid that it would be impossible to shoot in The Chatsworth House, as it is the major tourist attraction!“Sajid was very determined that we wanted to shoot in the Chatsworth House, hence he agreed on an hourly breakdowns wherein we were allowed to shoot in a part of the house which would be locked down each day for certain hours,” continues the source.
