'Kajarya' gets selected for the Montreal World Film Festival

Independent film 'Kajarya', has been selected for the prestigious Montreal Film Festival 2014.
Directed by Madhureeta Anand, the film will be showcased in the 'Focus on World Cinema' section at the prestigious Montreal World Film Festival 2014, 21st August - 1st September. An assured second feature from the director, the film is an original voice about female foeticide in India. It is a story of a rookie journalist in Delhi who exposes a woman, believed to embody Goddess Kali, who ritually kills female newborns in a village nearby. The story questions notions of women’s emancipation and feminism as it weaves through an interplay of drama and events and explores how India continues to live in many centuries at the same time.
'Kajarya' stars Meenu Hooda, Ridhima Sud and Kuldeep Ruhil. The film had its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival. It has found critical appreciation internationally since and has been selected by the
Forbes India magazine as the #1 in the Top 5 Films to See in 2014. Priyanka Chopra to be seen as a contestant on KBC!

The gorgeous and talented actress Priyanka Chopra who is very well known for her acting skills is to be seen as a contestant in one of the upcoming episode on the most popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8.

Priyanka Chopra will be seen on the show promoting her upcoming flick ‘Mary Kom’ which is near to its release date. While making her presence on the show felt for her film promotion she will also be seen taking over the seat of the contestant and play the quiz along with the legendary actor cum host of the show Kaun Banega Crorepati namely  Mr.Amitabh Bachchan.

The new season of KBC will go on air live on Aug 17, but it is not clear when the episode featuring Priyanka Chopra will be telecast.

मेरी कोम के शादी के ड्रेस में दिखेंगी प्रियंका चोपड़ा

प्रियंका चोपड़ा के लिए मेरी कोम के शादी में जो ड्रेस पहना था  वैसा ही दूसरा ड्रेस बनाया गया  इस शादी के सीन में प्रमाणिकता दिखाना चाहते थे इसी लिए मेरी कोम को रिक्वेस्ट कर उनके शादी पहने हुए ड्रेस को माँगा गया। ड्रेस डिजाइनर रजत ने उस ड्रेस जैसा ही दूसरा ड्रेस बनाया।

इस पर निर्देशक ओमंग का कहना है " हमारी इस फिल्म में हम जो असलियत में रहा है उसे ही दिखाने की कोशिश की है , हम शादी का सीन बिलकुल मेरी कॉम की शादी के जैसे ही शूट करना चाहते थे , जो ड्रेस मेरी ने अपनी शादी में पहना था वैसा ही ड्रेस इस सीन में भी चाहिए था, नकली ड्रेस बनाना इतना मुश्किल नहीं था लेकिन मेरी कोम के ड्रेस के जैसा ड्रेस बनाना कठिन था, मेने मेरे डिजायनर रजत को कहा , जो मटेरियल मेरी के ड्रेस के लिए इस्तेमाल हुआ है उसी मटेरियल से बने तथा ड्रेस  की हर बारीकी में उसी ड्रेस की तरह चाहिए थी।  आखिरकार हम धर्मशाला में फिल्म की शूटिंग कर रहे थे तब हमें यह लगा की ड्रेस पूरी तरह वैसे नहीं है, हमने तुरंत एक लड़के को बाजार में भेजा क्युकी हमें पारदर्शी घुंगट चाहिए था जो की मेरी कोम ड्रैस के जैसा ही चाहिए था, इस कारण हमारी शूट में देरी हुई क्युकी वैसा ही घुंगट नहीं मिल रहा था आखिर काफी मशक्त के बाद वह मिल गया अगर अब देखे तो यह पहचानना मुश्किल हो जायेगा की कोनसा ड्रेस असली है और कोनसा ड्रेस हमने बनाया है, इतना ही नहीं हाथ में जो बकेट है वह भी सेम है।

Singers Mika Singh and Shaan encourage upcoming talent

Television reality show, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, recently welcomed star guest Mika Singh and Shaan. The singers who will be making their acting debuts in their upcoming comedy-caper Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya were moved deeply after seeing some of the performances in the show.

Both Mika and Shaan who attended the show to promote their movie were brimming with emotions after seeing some groundbreaking performances by the contestants. The singers were so impressed that they gifted an amount of 2,07,000 to the contestants.

When questioned about his surprising gesture, Shaan said, “It was Mika’s initiative actually. He decided to gift the contestants and I also got inspired. I was particularly impressed by this sand artiste Hariharan (he drew Sachin Tendulkar’s life story in four sketches) and the girls who performed a skipping act through fire. They were the prime contenders but they couldn’t make it to the next round and this was our way of encouraging them.”

Mika who is one of the successful singers in Bollywood also runs an NGO – Divine Touch, which takes care of girl child. The singer was questioned about his interest in charity and his NGO, he said, “For the last 15 years, I have been doing some social work but four years ago I decided to start a NGO to help girls who are poor, cannot afford education or have problems during marriage. I contribute 10 per cent of my earnings to the organization. When I went on the sets of EKLKBK I had not planned to donate money, but I was so impressed with the performances that on the spot I decided to gift money to encourage them.”
