Star Movies viewers all set to exercise the ‘Power of Choice’ You Pick The Flick with #YPTF and Star Movies plays it.

When you are the leading English movie channel of the country you tend to set new benchmarks for the category to follow. Especially when it comes to understanding what the viewers want. No wonder then that Star Movies has yet again given the reigns of the channel into its audiences with the latest avatar of #YouPickTheFlick – viewers get to pick the film of their choice and it airs on the channel from 8th November, 2014.
Star Movies always strives to enhance the viewer experience every time they showcase epic films and this time they have decided to empower their viewers by letting them decide which movie they love more amongst others and want to watch on Star Movies every weekend.
Viewers don’t pick a flick, they need to fight it out against the fans of the other film. The viewer votes, promotes and ensures that his pick wins over the other. The victory can be celebrated with your loved ones at home over the weekend.
Every Saturday, Star Movies will pit two of the latest movies for the Battle YPTF for the following week, and viewers will battle it out using their Facebook page and Twitter handles.
This epic battle will begin with the truly Incredible Hulk locking horns with the “Genius, Billionaire, Playboy and Philanthropist” – Iron Man for votes and the winner will be out on 8th November on TV screens. The week after, put pedal to the metal as Fast & Furious 6 and Death Race will race for your votes. For the romantics, Twilight Saga-Breaking Dawn 2 will be competing with Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons to steal the hearts of Star Movies viewers.
Speaking about bringing this experience to the viewers, Mr. Kevin Vaz, General Manager – English Cluster, Star India said, “At Star Movies, all our initiatives are created with our viewer in focus. Their needs and choices drive our innovations. So #YPTF or You Pick The Flick was a natural extension that goes one step ahead in empowering our viewers and giving them the power of choice.  We want to have a deeper interaction with our viewers and enrich their movie watching experience.”
Time to pick your favourites and let everyone know that you picked the flick on Star Movies every Saturday from 8th November at 7pm!

Cosmic connect and colours of passion

The indelible impression of Gods and Goddesses that Indians have can be largely attributed to the visual cultural heritage of Raja Ravi Varma. His paintings of beautiful sari-clad women drew so much appreciation in the West, that a beautiful woman would often be described as looking ‘as if she had stepped out of a Varma canvas’.
One of Ravi Varma’s greatest contributions was to democratise the production and distribution of art with the creation of the Lithographic Press in 1894. Cosmic Heart Gallery  hosted a very special exhibition with reproductions of the lithographs rendered on limestone by Mumbai-based Rashme Mehta.
Director Ketan Mehta,  actors Nandana Sen, Ajay Gehi and cosmic healer Jalpa Vithalani were part of the event.
“These historical images on limestone have been recreated from the text of the artist’s works and from documentation of the various subjects which I have researched in the last fifteen years,” says  Mehta.
This is one among the many exclusive exhibitions curated by Cosmic Heart Gallery, which was established with the intention of creating space for nurturing the soul through art. Says cosmic healer Jalpa Vithalani, “Cosmic Heart creations are about beauty, art, creativity and expression of the Absolute. You will melt in the presence of our collection of paintings as you soak in the energy, colour and flow. This particular exhibition is about bringing back our cultural heritage, our ‘Indian Sankskriti’, epic stories, history of a bygone era, alive once again into our homes, to pass onto our next generations.”
The exhibition of Raja Ravi Varma’s works are on at Cosmic Heart Gallery.  Timings: 11am to 7pm - Tuesday to Saturday.
