Concept :

Karmabhoomi of Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, RD Burman and SD Burman was our own Mumbai. This city has given a chance to all the talented artists from all over India and (nowadays even to artists from abroad)  to come to Mumbai and display their talent in front of people. The above 4 people were such jewels who shone in the light of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, and made a name for themselves.

We all know Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar but Kishore Kumar, RD Burman and SD Burman were equally talented artists who came from Bengal / Assam and made Mumbai their home. Kishore Kumar, the younger brother of film actor Ashok Kumar, first came in as a film actor before his talent as a singer was spotted by SD Burman the father of RD Burman.

Their songs left a magic spell on the people of India. From kids to young adults to old people, all of them lived the musical journey of these artists and kept humming these tunes all throughout. So as a tribute to these jewels of Mumbai who are now national jewels, and to relive those memories though these songs, we present this musical journey of ‘Lata, Kishore with the Burmans’.

Musicians and Artists :

This is a unique show where all top artists who are currently a part of musical TV programmes shall perform. Musicians like Deepak Borkar are veterans in the industry now who have also performed with R.D. Burman at that time. Neeta Jadhav and Alok Katdare are today’s top singers in Musical shows. Neeta Jadhav has also sung in Marathi musical albums. Amal Purandare has been doing musical shows in Mumbai and Poona since last 4 years.

Crime Patrol’s 750th episode on ‘Sting operation’

The popular crime based show Crime Patrol on Sony Entertainment Television, which has kept the viewers glued to their television screen with its riveting concept, recently completed a milestone of 750 episodes. On this occasion, there was a cake cutting ceremony arranged on the set of the show to celebrate its success. Everybody present on this occasion was overwhelmed with the response of the viewer’s towards the show and were seen enjoying the celebrations.

Speaking on the completion of the splendid journey of 750 episodes, the host of the show, Mr. Anup Soni quipped, "As we complete 750 episodes of Crime Patrol, all I want to say is that, it has been a great yet learning experience for me. I always wanted to contribute to the betterment of the society and then I was offered this show which deals with exposing societal truths. Also completing a milestone of 750 episodes would not have been successful without the right vision of Subbu & Neeraj and the hard work of the entire Creative and Production team. Indira Youth Yatra an initiation by the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune

 

Indira Youth Yatra, which is an initiative by the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune, this year. The idea of the Indira Youth Yatra was conceived by Dr. Tarita Shankar, the Chairperson of the Indira Group of Institutes, who has had vast experience of 20 years in the field of education. It was ably supported by Group Director, IGI, Prof. ChetanWakalkarWith an aim to reach out to all strata & possible locations emphasizing on the need & prospects of education, the Yatra was majorly appreciated by students & parents across the country as it emphasized on skill based tutelage.

The sessions were conducted by motivational speakers and industry experts coaxing them to pursue careers and higher education in bigger educational hubs of the country, gain more knowledge and go back to their native land, in a way increasing the standard of living of their hometowns.

Inspirational leaders, shared the struggles leading to their success, propelling the students to work hard and get positively motivated by their stories. The students interacted not only with each other but also with the eminent speakers, clearing their misconceptions and other doubts related to various streams of education.

Eminent directors from the Indira Group like Mr. AdeshGaikwad, Dr. Pandit Mali, Dr. Renu Bhargava, Dr. Anagha Joshi, Dr. Poorna Shankar, MsMadhuriSathe, Mr. Santosh Kumar, Dr. A. A. Kulkarni, Dr. RupaHiremath, , Dr. Anjali Kalkar, Dr. VirendraTatke, Dr. JanardanPawar, Mr. Sunil Ingole, Mr. Raji Thomas, Mr. S . P. Over 5000students from all over the country attended the seminars conducted in the Indira Youth Yatra project.

The Indira group of Institutes also identified the top 5 highest scorers in each seminar, who get sponsored by the Indira group for a 'Pune Darshan' tour after their exams, a completely funded itinerary by the Indira Youth Yatra.

The seminars were held in a total of 18 cities like, Malegaon, Guwahati, Kota, Jalgaon, Indore, etc, by most eminent motivational speakers from each city with Lucknow. Dr. Tarita Shankar & Prof. ChetanWakalkar also interacted with the students personally at most of the seminars motivating them to aim higher in life yet stay rooted at the same time.An excellent initiative by the IGI, the youth yatra helped bridge the gap between the youth & skilled education to a large extent.

ALONG WITH A PICKELEBALL FIESTA

Lions Club of Bombay Willigdon Crescent Charity Trust spreads its wings by opening a stadium “SPORTING LIONS FIESTA 2015”. The dream of Lions Club of Bombay Willigdon Crescent Charity Trust of converting the 3 acre plot to a functional one is now a reality; they have done well to baptize it as Lions Muncipal Sports Complex (LMSC). The transformation of the piece of land to a functional sports complex and its maintenance is purely from Public donation raised by the Lions Willingdon Trust on a PPP model. The Lions of Willingdon dreamt big and planned to develop, execute and maintain a multi-sport facility, “SPORTING LIONS FIESTA 2015” as a self- sustaining model benefiting sports enthusiasts in Mumbai.

For an auspicious start, the opening of “SPORTING LIONS FIESTA 2015” commenced with lamp lighting and introducing the LIONS CLUB on the stage. Pickelball fiesta was organized in order to add to the merriment of the opening.

Talking about the uniqueness of the fiesta is that its multi sport under one roof and that too under lights so that citizens have a comfort to participate after work hours as well. Sportinglions thought process is to make people young and old participate in sports for which the infrastructure is being constantly upgraded with public donations. The main motto of the fiesta is participation not winning or losing and being more for non professionals. 

“SPORTING LIONS FIESTA 2015” is today home to various tournaments, coaching services, sports activities benefiting sportsmen/ women, children and communities. “SPORTING LIONS FIESTA 2015” is today the preferred sports destination to Play, Practice, Participate; on any given day we have approximately 200-300 young enthusiasts participating in various sports activities- a sight to watch.
