Smile Foundation, a national level development organization, showcased the 11th edition of its charity fashion show ‘Ramp for Champs’ today at the Hyatt Regency, Mumbai. With a special focus on empowering the girl children, funds raised will be utilized through Smile Foundation’s national level programme - Mission Education. This edition of Ramp  For Champs  had a robust line-up of 60 personalities and achievers from all walks of life and many responsible brands who have came together to celebrate the very best of fashion and creative talent. 

This year at Ramp for Champs, Smile Foundation’s initiative ‘She Can Fly’ campaign was the focus of the show. This campaign is an effort to enable, equip and empower girl children with quality education, proper nutrition, good health, adequate skills, and above all a lot of self-confidence to help them live their lives to their fullest potential. This is also a step towards sensitizing the civil society at large and helping create a girl child friendly society to help her thrive. She Can Fly, let’s give her the sky!

Tara Sharma walked the ramp and encouraged the children for education. The event was to promote girl Child education and the foundation supports special kids and children for education.

I hope lots of funds are raised for this very worthy cause of #education for those less privileged  #rampforchamps #shecanfly #equality I walked the ramp for them last yr too and also on last season of our show Virat Kohli was a guest spoke of his Ngo The Virat Kohli Foundation and the Smile Foundation too. I also attended his Virat Kohli Foundation Charity gala in association with Smile.. I am no big star but I do feel everyone can make a difference in whatever way they are able to Some with donations some with skills and someone like me through my show and by helping raising awareness through such events etc Our show is a platform to discuss family issues with a view to helping bring about positive change and without sounding like a martyr to me it is important to walk the talk and actually be involved with and try and help the causes we speak of even when the show is between seasons​."

Akshay Dogra goes shirtless for his show Warris on &TV

It’s the season to go shirtless in the industry. However, that does put a lot of pressure on the actors to have chiselled greek god bodies. in a bid to be seen as the perfect one, many actors are seen slaving it out in gyms at unearthly hours. Now, it is obvious that if audiences only see chiselled bodies then they will also aspire to achieve that body.

However, Akshay Dogra who will be seen shirtless in his show has decided to go ahead and shoot inspite of not having a great body. He is advocating the fact that one should be confident and love the body which they have. He feels that body shamming has taken such big proportion that there are many people who suffer because of this and by doing this he wants the world to know that being happy is more important than a six pack.Speaking about the same Akshay said,”  We live in an age where television influences the young very easily. if we continuously bombard them with imagery of picture perfect bodies we put unnecessary stress on them to be the same. I am extremely comfortable in the way i look and i would advise people also to enjoy life and not confirm to societal norms.
