Sonali Bendre to involve children in her book Club

Sonali Bendre who turned author with her bestseller Modern Gurukul, recently created a Book Club on Facebook to encourage the passion for reading and exchanging ideas and thoughts.Talking about this initiative says Sonali, “This book club  is for anyone who is a lover of stories and who likes reading because today all of us are facing the same problem... there is so much information ....so much happening... so much distraction that we no longer have the time or inclination to sit down with a book and read or even spend time with ourselves. This is a great way of reconnecting with books and interesting stories and engage in stimulation conversation and discussions.”The former actress who continues to remain one of the most loved personalities on television will also be involving children ,suggesting books for them and discussing them, to inculcate a strong habit of reading in them from a young age.Sonali will also be involving her son Ranveer in the hope to encourage him to read more – Says Sonali, “He does read, but not as much as I’d like him to, so I am hoping that by setting this example, he develops a love for reading and not just read as part of his schooling or curriculum. I am involving him in the book reading club. Hopefully, he will read these books, too, if time permits from his studies.”

Shibani Kashyap & Big Mountain perform to a packed audience

Ace singer Shibani Kashyap and the LA based reggae band, Big Mountain performed to a packed house at Manhattan Bar Exchange. Enthuses Shibani, "It was one of my most exciting shows... performing with the entire line up of Big Mountain band was a sheer musical heaven. I am so deeply entrenched into Reggae music now.  The drummer Paul is brilliant... he has performed with the likes of Dianne King, Shaggy, Apache Indian etc. There is a lot that I learnt from each and every musician of the band. Quino is a fabulous singer as well as a great guitarist. I relate to him and we complement each other beautifully. It was a lovely feeling to see people enthralled... they loved our single, 24 Hours Irresponsible and of course Baby I Love Your Way brought the house down!! It was almost a two and a half hours performance that we enjoyed to the hilt."

Alia Bhatt congratulates young Vedant for winning over cancer

Indore-based 7 year old Vedant’s only two wishes were to become a pilot when he grows up and spend a day with Alia Bhatt! Sadly, a rare kind of cancer hit him last year, for which he had to come to Mumbai for treatment.After a successful battle at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, his wish finally came true when his dream girl Alia gave him a surprise visit on the day of his discharge from the hospital. Incidentally it was also Vedant’s birthday on that day, and was his best one as he celebrated it with his favorite Alia Bhatt. The hospital management was elated to give one final gift to Vedant before he walked out of the hospital all healthy, without any trace of cancer after intensive care under Dr. Santanu Sen, Senior Oncologist from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

Alia spent some quality time with Vedant where they shared his birthday cake and a chocolate. The actress, who always advocated about living life to the fullest, shared the same with Vedant. She instilled a lot of hope in the young boy and gave a lot of encouragement to explore all that life has to offer. Vedant had few pictures of Alia he had collected over the period of time and Alia graciously signed those for him.His family is grateful to Make A Wish Foundation and the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital who helped Vedant start his new life with this beautiful surprise!
