Owen Wilson says he got Cars role because of Jackie Chan's Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights

Actor Owen Wilson who will be seen next as the maverick Lightening McQueen in the much awaited animation franchise Cars 3 releasing on 16th June, gave a teasing update to his fans by hinting at the franchise comedy sequel Shanghai Dawn.
The surprise blockbuster hits Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights from 2000 and 2003 saw Owen Wilson rise as a comic star!
Recently while promoting Cars 3 at the premieres, Wilson reportedly spoke about how his appearances in Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights landed him the role of Lightning McQueen – saying, “Yeah, there is some talk. Uh, I saw Jackie not too long ago and we were talking about it, but it’s funny that you mention that because Shanghai Noon was the movie, I think, that helped me sorta become involved with Cars because when I met John Lasseter, he and his kids had enjoyed that movie, and he said that he had this animated movie that he thought maybe I’d be good for so that’s, you know, how I ended up getting cast as Lightning McQueen.”
Disney-Pixar's popular Lightning McQueen is back on the big screen as the successful Cars franchise hits screens once again, but he’s not a rookie anymore. Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen finds himself suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves.

“Cars 3” features Owen Wilson (“The Royal Tenenbaums,” upcoming “Wonder”) as the voice of Lightning McQueen. Cristela Alonzo (“The Angry Birds Movie”) voices tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez, who tries to help #95 return to greatness, and Armie Hammer (“The Birth of a Nation”) lends his voice to next-gen racer Jackson Storm, whose high-tech speed leaves Lightning McQueen behind. Kerry Washington (ABC’s “Scandal,” HBO’s “Confirmation”) was called on to voice statistical analyst Natalie Certain, Nathan Fillion (ABC’s “Castle,” ABC’s “Modern Family”) provides the voice of brilliant business-car Sterling, Lea DeLaria (Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black”) lends her voice to formidable school bus Miss Fritter, and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton helps bring voice command assistant Hamilton to life.

Saqib learns Kathak dance for his next

Indian classical dance seems like an all woman's world and so a male classical dancer doesn't get the same respect. Saqib Saleem who has always been associated with meaningful projects and was last seen in 'Dobaara' with his sister Huma Qureshi has now been roped in for a beautiful short film titled Aamad where he plays the character of a Kathak dancer. Saqib Saleem bears a lean fit body a mark of machismo and attempting a character of Kathak dancer was completely off beat for him. Though it was very challenging for him but the actor took it in his own stride and put together a genuine effort to learn the art by a professional Kathak guru and actress Ishita Sharma. The actor showed immense grace learning the art that can put many actors to shame. This story is about a father who is a Kathak dancer and how his son is embarrassed of his father's art. The plot explores how they build their relation over a period of time and overcome their personal apprehensions and start a new friendship. The film will be released by Terribly Tiny Talkies on the special occasion of Fathers Day and is directed by Neeraj Udhwani who has previously worked with Saqib for Mere Dad Ki Maruti. When asked Saqib, he said, “I know Neeraj for a while now as he wrote Mere Dad ki Maruti and we meet often to discuss ideas. He shared the idea of Aamad with me and asked me what I thought .When I read it I instantly fell in love with the story and I told him that he shouldn't look for anyone else as I want to do it. It's such a simple yet complex film as it speaks about the unsaid things in a father son relationship.”

Aneri Vajani’s surprise visit to fans in slum

Aneri Vajani, who is currently popular as Saanjh from Beyhadh, has made a special place in the hearts of her fans for her maverick performance in the show. While the actor feels extremely content for garnering all the praises for her role, she could not control her emotion recently when she came across a few fans at a slum in Mumbai.
Recently, when Aneri was travelling in her car, she spotted a few kids watching Beyhadh. Her car was at a signal (near JVLR road) when she was the girls watching her scene from the show and she promptly decided to step out of the car and greet them. She went towards the footpath and greeted them. Of course they were shocked to see Saanjh right in front of them, as she smiled and waved at them making it one the most memorable moment for everyone. All the girls hugged Aneri and went on a picture clicking spree.

When contacted, Aneri expressed her contentment saying, “I was in the car when I saw families in a slum where watching Beyhadh and that too my scene. I thought I should step out and surprise them with a Hi which will make them feel really happy. When they saw me they were firstly really shocked. As I told them I am Saanjh, they went crazy. Two girls had tears in their eyes and hugged me so tightly. We clicked a lot of selfies and were extremely happy.”
