Suneel Darshan: The soul of Indian cinema is missing because of corporate culture

Hollywood calling Evelyn Sharma

Evelyn Sharma has worked with interesting makers like David Dhavan, Rohan Sippy, Divya Khosla Kumar, Ayan Mukerji and Imtiaz Ali in Bollywood flicks like Main Tera Hero, Nautanki Saala, Yaariyan, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the upcoming Jab Harry Met Sejal.
But she really surprised the industry further, when she recently became the only speaker from our entertainment industry to address an audience including global leaders on world peace and unity at US president Donald Trump's National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC.
Now it seems Evelyn has a new list of surprises up her sleeve. Turns out, her frequent trips to Los Angeles were not about a boyfriend, but movies in the West. "Super exciting times. Nice to get inquiries and read scripts in LA," she's just tweeted.
What's more! Rumour has it that Evelyn also has an agent in the US. So don't be surprised if she's the next from Bollywood to add to the escapades of Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan's in Hollywood.
And while some of our actors have been prepping their creative juices and boosting their adrenalin looking at international movies, Evelyn's not even stopping at that. Her recent trip to the States, had New York based music producer Brooklyn Shanti fly down to LA to make more music with her.
Yes! She's written and recorded a few new songs and shot a music video on her recent trip. Need we say, the numbers can be expected to even better her last attempt at singing 'Something Beautiful'.

Plus, apart from Jab Harry Met Sejal, Evelyn will also be seen playing the lead opposite Amit Sadh in Jack & Dil. So her year ahead promises a lot.

New Music Friday- IMAGINE DRAGONS EVOLVE # 1 in India

The highly anticipated album by Imagine Dragons titled ‘Evolve’ has officially arrived. Followed by the release of the global smash hits ‘Believer’, ‘Thunder’ & ‘Whatever It Takes’ the whole album released worldwide on 23rd June.
Since making their full-length debut with 2012’s multi-platinum Night Visions, Imagine Dragons have drawn worldwide adoration for their anthemic yet moody alt-rock. On their third album Evolve, the Grammy Award-winning band shift perspective and take on a brighter but more layered emotional outlook
Throughout Evolve, Imagine Dragons find unlikely glory in intense self-reflection. On “Whatever It Takes,” the band turns self-doubt into a soaring, shimmering epic driven by heavy beats and Reynolds’s rapid-fire flow. Another moment of reckoning, “Thunder” brings waves of majestic harmonies and warped vocal effects to Reynolds’s recounting of his life’s journey so far.
The staggering album features a diverse tracklist showcasing 11 powerful tracks by the American Rock band.
The track-list for Evolve is as follows:
1.       I Don’t Know Why
2.       Whatever It Takes
3.       Believer
4.       Walking The Wire
5.       Rise Up
6.       Make It Up To You
7.       Yesterday
8.       Mouth of the River
9.       Thunder
10.   Start Over
11.   Dancing In The Dark
 About Imagine Dragons

Formed in 2009, Imagine Dragons first revealed their emotionally charged and inventive sensibilities with a series of independently released EPs that earned them a grassroots following. Signed to KIDinaKORNER/Interscope by hitmaking producer Alex Da Kid, the band greatly expanded their fanbase with the release of their multi-platinum breakthrough single “It’s Time” (featured on the 2012 EP Continued Silence). With their past hits also including “Radioactive” (a diamond-selling smash that won Best Rock Performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards), Imagine Dragons went on to see Smoke + Mirrors debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart upon its release in early 2015.

Golden Period 1950-60s with Trinity of Dilip- Raj-Dev triumphant at Osian’s Greatest Indian Show on Earth 2

Mughal-e-Azam remains favourite of serious Memorabilia collectors
“The value of film memorabilia is there till the time technology replaced hand-painted posters and showcards with printed ones. If we had not placed credible financial value on these related objects of our film culture, the desire to preserve, love and respect our cinematic heritage would have been much more difficult to emerge,” said Neville Tuli, Chairman - The Osian's Group. His words rang through Osian's The Greatest Indian Show On Earth 2 - Vintage Film Memorabilia, Publicity Materials & Arts Auction where film lovers from the world over flocked to take home a piece of Indian cinematic history to be hopefully preserved forever.

Osian’s Chairman, Neville Tuli, highlights the role of auctions in this preservation process: “Today centers of research, museums, archives, collections, related to not just Indian film but all cinemas will emerge deeper and faster with India as a potential hub. It is not very far away when the finest scholars and researchers will flock to India to understand the profound role the cinematic and related arts have played in developing culture and a thousand influences thereon. The auctions have facilitated this journey just like Film Festivals facilitate a film appreciation culture. One has to only see the growth of the Hollywood memorabilia market to understand the vast energies that get energized when the film fraternity, media and the public work in unity to respect one’s history, and hence one’s current creativity.”
