Starry Night at the 16th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards

The DadaSaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards 2018 recently took place at Chitrakoot ground, which was attended by glitterati – Celebrated directors, musicians, technicians and actors from both film and telelvision industry. Some of the names included R.Balki, Manisha Koirala, Konkana Sen, Shree Narayan Singh, Armaan Malik, Neeti Mohan, Manish Paul, Irshad Kamil, Amit Sadh, Ishita Raj Sharma, Farida Jalal, Sandeep Marwah, Shubhangi Atre, Rohitash Gaud, Rakhi Sawant, Arshi Khan and many more. 

Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation award  is one of the most prestigious awards in Indian cinema and is the highest official recognition for film personalities in the country.

Dadasaheb Phalke –The father of Indian cinema who had brought revolution to the Indian film industry. The film fraternity owes its evolution and success to the great Dadasaheb Phalke.  The main aim of these awards is to honor artist, technician for their contribution toward the industry. Dadasaheb Phalke film foundation awards is the only awards supported by Federation of western India Cine employees  (FWIC) show is  executed by Glocal Thinkers. These are the only awards which felicitate the technicians and is nominated and voted by 27 prominent film association across the country.

Babita Phogat has a fan girl moment

Commonwealth champion Babita Phogat recently had a fan girl moment at FICCI FLO Kolkatta when she happened to meet Shilpa Shetty Kundra, a star she has admired for several years. 

In fact, when Babita was presented her award on stage , she mentioned how she was a huge fan of Shilpa's and has always dreamed of meeting her someday. Shilpa who was in the audience , immediately met Babita post the event and spoke to her length applauding her work and talent and for constantly making the country proud. 

When contacted said Shilpa, " Swarmed with awards, with only gratitude in my heart . It was a special moment to receive this honour and even more touching to meet Babita Phogat, who is an absolute inspiration". 

Shilpa Shetty Kundra continues to remain one of the most loved names on television and social media and is known to be one of the warmest celebrities , it's no wonder then that she received the "Woman of Substance" award at FICCI FLO

Amitabh Bachchan revisits the classic song 'Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam' for his upcoming movie 102 Not Out

Mere Paas Aao from Mr Natwarlal (1979) was the first time that Amitabh Bachchan used his rich baritone to add depth and drama to a Hindi film song. Since then, his soulful voice has graced many memorable songs like Neela Aasman So Gaya and Rang Barsefrom Silsila (1981), Mere Angne Mein from Laawaris (1981) and Main Yahan Tu Wahanfrom Baghban (2003) to tracks like Ekla Cholo Re from Kahaani (2012) and Piddly Si Baatein from Shamitabh (2015) in recent years. 

Now, in his upcoming film 102 Not Out, directed by Umesh Shukla, apart from playing one of the leading men, the actor also took a keen interest in the music. He has already shared with us his experience of creating the track Badumbaaa, which was entirely his idea. Big B has also sung the song along with his co-actor in the film, Rishi Kapoor. The actor revealed that there is another track that he has sung, which is extremely special and close to his heart. It is a new rendition of the timeless classic, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam, from the movie Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959). However, there is a mention of this song in the film.  The film’s original music was composed by SD Burman and this song was beautifully rendered by Geeta Dutt. 

Big B, who plays a 102-year-old man in the film, recorded the track in his characteristic deep and booming voice.The song was arranged by Rohan Utpat and Vinayak K Salvi. 

Working in 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' was the turning point in my life: Apoorva Singh

Apoorva Singh, an immensely talented budding actress based in Mumbai, is paving her way to success in the entertainment industry. Hailing from Jaipur, Singh always believed in her dreams of becoming an actress since childhood. Quite recently, she bagged the biggest role of her career in the Star Plus prime show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, where she can be seen in a cameo playing the role of a fashion designer. 

Singh describes her experience of working with Balaji as one of the biggest turning points of her life. Nevertheless, this experience gave her the opportunity to work with some of the finest names of TV industry namely Divyanka Tripathi, Anita Hassanandani, Karan Patel, Abhishek Verma and on the top of all Ekta Kapoor (TV and Film Producer). 

Magnificently describing her experience of working in YHM, Apoorva states, “My shoot in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has really been one of the most amazing experiences.  I am doing a cameo but the things that I am learning here are just beyond comparison. I have got the opportunity to work and learn with Ekta ma’am, which I believe any budding artist would want. On the very first day, I had a shot with Adi (Abhishek Verma), and it went well. But the very next day, when I had a shot with Divyanka Tripathi and Anita Hassanandani, I got really nervous and that is when Divyanka ma’am came to talk to me and made me comfortable. She is very humble and extremely down to earth person. I wish to have more dialogues with the characters Raman and Ishita (Played by Divyanka and Karan) - just keeping my fingers crossed and working my way through”. 

Apoorva’s inspiring persona and constant hard work has helped her all along in the TV industry. She has recently given many auditions and has bagged big roles in shows like Crime Patrol, Agnifera, Vikram Bhatt’s web series. Unfortunately she had to give up the opportunity of working with Vikram Bhatt, because of the pre-assigned dates given to Balaji for YHM. She wishes to work with more big names in the industry, keeping her attitude positive and mind focused. Even her life’s mantra is ‘Stay Focused, Positive and Keep working for the things you love - No matter what!’.

SALMAN KHAN SAYS JISSE ZINDAGI SIKHAYE USSE KAUN HARAYE

~After the most watched Dus Ka Dum app promo with Salman Khan, Nitesh Tiwari now directs the show’s campaign~

Dus Ka Dum, the game show that marked the debut of dumdaar Salman Khan on Indian television, will soon make a comeback after 9 years on Sony Entertainment Television (SET). Underlining the show’s core of testing the average Indian’s ‘Power of Observation’, the channel released its Jisse Zindagi Sikhaye Usse Kaun Haraye campaign. The creative genius behind the biggest blockbuster film, Dangal and the award winning Kaun Banega Crorepati campaigns on SET, Nitesh Tiwari has conceptualized and directed, while Nikhil Mehrotra has co-written this campaign. 

The core of the campaign stems from the thought that people learn from their own experiences and observe other people’s behavioral pattern in various situations. These real/everyday life experiences become a foundation of their opinions. Each ad film will portray a contestant being tested on their observation skill and estimating what Indians think or do in real life situation. 

The ad film will feature the ‘dumdaar’ Salman Khan, who is the host of the show. Recognized for his affable skills and being a natural charmer, Salman Khan will bring a high quotient of fun into the game.
