Zama Habib’s progressive Nimki Mukhiya celebrates 200 episodes on Star Bharat

It is not always easy for a man to make a television series on women empowerment, in a scenario where most shows are regressive. But when writer-maker Zama Habib of Qissago Telefilms decided to bring to life Nimki Mukhiya on Star Bharat (Monday to Saturday at 8:30 pm), he set the show in the heartlands of Bihar adding to the challenge.

The writer in Zama Habib gave equal importance to every character in the show. Thus, enabling the TRPs to reflect audience appreciation. It is not just that. Nimki Mukhiya has been penned with progressive ink and her character carefully crafted to inspire both the rural and the urban woman, making the show a true trendsetter.

No wonder then that Nimki Mukhiya’s 200th episode celebration saw the entire cast and crew come together and celebrate the victory of the poor but happy girl. Suddenly finding herself as the Mukhiya of the village, albeit with no power, wedded in the loveless family and yet emerging a winner at every step.

“Nimki is a fun-loving, carefree diehard Bollywood fan with a mind of her own. She becomes her village’s first female Mukhiya, is married into a rich family only to realize that it is all a plot of casteism and that she is in a loveless marriage, confined to the outhouse. Real life couple Murli Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar to be a reel-life couple for the first time

After sending the audiences in splits in Golmaal series,now actor Murli Sharma and wife Ashwini Kalsekar are sharing the screen space yet again.

But for the first time, the real couple is coming together as on-screen couple for a Telugu movie Mehabooba, directed by Puri Jagnnath. They play Pakistani parents to the leading lady of the film and the role is quite interesting as one can imagine. Also with a prolific director like Puri calling the shots, the duo is understandably excited!

Commenting on the same Murali, in tongue-cheek manner, “Puri is one director that every actor wants to work with. So obviously I am excited but there’s another reason! I got to play a dominating husband in the movie. So if not in real life, atleast In the movie, was being the boss !
