Sanjay Dutts Productions' next Prasthaanam to start shoot on Nargisji's birthday


Sanjay Dutts Productions which is all set to produce the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Prasthaanam, will have the film go on floors on the birthday of Sanjay Dutt's mother Nargisji. Sanjay Dutt who will be seen playing one of the lead roles in the film was keen on starting this new venture on the day of his mother's birth marking it to be a milestone for the film.

The film which is a family Drama with a political backdrop will be shot in Lucknow and also stars Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur. Deva Katta, who directed the original movie, will also helm the Hindi project.

Sanjay Dutts Productions is getting back to producing films after seven years with this anticipated film which had created a lot of buzz during the Telugu release.

The director and actor of the film Dr. J S Randhawa is present at the event along with the senior artist Birbal, Manmouji and Ramesh Goyal. Actor Shyam Mashalkar also presented.  10 Nahi 40 is an exceptional film which highlights the major concern of the society that is to understand and the care for the elderly.

This movie is the story of a residential society where the main protagonist Sumit gets irritated every time with the nagging behavior of his elderly neighbors and gets involved in an argument with them. On the other hand, his sister in law Aashi whom he loves a lot is involved always in the welfare and care of the elderly. The story gradually revolves around how Aashi leads him to change his attitude and they together decide to open a daycare center for elderly. The story is laced with loads of laughter inspite of dealing with a sensitive and serious issue.

The film will reintroduce you to some veteran character artistes from yesteryears Birbal , Manmauji and Ramesh Goyal with current generation Manoj Bakshi .”Tum to there pardesi” famed singer Altaf Raja has rendered his voice to a song and is present in the movie too singing the same.

The director and actor Dr. J S Randhawa quoted “Its an educational film sending a message to the society to understand and care for the elderly. To know their insecurities and fears as they approach the twilight of their lives. On being asked about the title he further said “The title of the film indicates that life is not to be counted by the years you lived or years that are left but by the years you lived happily and enjoyed. Throughout our lives we are busy meeting our ends and needs and the time we enjoy is very little. The 10 years that may be left for you to live will look like 40 if spent in mirth and enjoyment.”

It’s a wrap for Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi


It’s a wrap for the cast and crew of Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions’ Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (HPBJ) in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

After making a grand announcement of the movie in October last year, filmmaker Mudassar Aziz has shot the movie across the beautiful locations of Amritsar followed by the final shooting schedule in Kuala Lumpur.

HPBJ is a sequel to the 2016 laughter riot, Happy Bhag Jayegi featuring Diana Penty in the lead role along with Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill.

In an attempt to take the original starring Sonakshi Sinha as the new Happy along with the original character played by Diana Penty, Jimmy Shergill, Piyush Mishra and Ali Fazal, to the next level and the audience on a roller-coaster ride, producer Aanand L Rai is looking forward to take it to the audience this August.

Says Mudassar, “It’s quite a happy and an emotional moment for everyone associated with Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. It has been an enriching experience shooting the film. I’ll definitely miss my ‘Happy’ team and always cherish the moments working on the movie, which is very close to my heart.”

Rhea Kapoor recommended Sumeet for Veere Di Wedding


Actor Sumeet Vyas post his successful stint on the digital platform has taken a big leap into mainstream cinema with his next big release Veere Di Wedding, where he will be seen romancing the diva Kareena Kapoor Khan. As per the promo of the film Sumeet is looking very promising in his role playing the would-be husband to Kareena. In another instance, he was seen in video spread across social media shaking legs with Kareena as well Sonam Kapoor for a song which is to be featured in the film.

The film has an ensemble cast with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania as the main lead, whereas Sumeet Vyas will be seen in a pivotal role. If sources are to be believed Sumeet bagged the role all thanks to Rhea Kapoor. The other members of the production team were looking for an actor who could play the part opposite Kareena, that's when Rhea recommended Sumeet's name. After brief discussions amongst the producers it was decided unanimously that Sumeet was the apt choice to play the part.

Veere Di Wedding, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures along with Sonam's younger sister Rhea Kapoor and actor Nikhil Dwivedi and is slated for release on 1st June 2018.

The nominees for Best Actor in a leading role (Male) are Irrfan Khan (Hindi Medium), Ranbir Kapoor (Jagga Jasoos), Adil Hussain (Mukti Bhawan), Rajkummar Rao (Newton), Akshay Kumar (Toilet - Ek Prem Katha). 

The nominees for Best Actor in a leading role (Female) are Seema Pahwa (Bareilly Ki Barfi), Tabu (Golmaal Again), Meher Vij (Secret Superstar), Seema Pahwa (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan), Neha Dhupia (Tumhari Sulu). 

Nominations for the Best Director category include Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (Bareilly Ki Barfi), Saket Chaudhary (Hindi Medium), Anurag Basu (Jagga Jasoos), Amit V Masurkar (Newton), Suresh Triveni (Tumhari Sulu).
