Marshmello's BIBA directed by Punit Malhotra crosses 11 Million views

American Electronic music producer and DJ Marshmello released a music video 'BIBA' four days ago digitally in collaboration with Bollywood's music composer Pritam. The video directed by Punit Malhotra is a tribute to Bollywood musicals and features a cameo from none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

The song recreates some famous scenes from the actor’s films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Se, Om Shanti Om among others. The track also features Indo-Kiwi artist and Youtube phenomenon Shirley Setia.

Talking about directing this one of its kind video, Punit says, "When we started shooting the music video we had a clear vision of the story we wanted to tell. It was imperative we gave justice to both, the song and the visuals. Marshmello is a super fun artist and collaborating with him has been a great experience. The song he’s created with Pritam is such an upbeat song that kept the whole set grooving throughout. It felt like one big Bollywood themed party. He really enjoys and embraces Bollywood so re-creating some of the iconic scenes was so much fun. Shah Rukh sir joined the party and that made it even more special. I am glad I got to direct this with my Dharma 2.0 team. It was the cherry on top of an already amazing cake"

Marshmello, who is currently touring in India says, " I went to India for the first time ever a few years ago and I had no clue how much it would change me. The amount of love, strength and compassion the people of India have is remarkable. I’ve never been somewhere where I felt so appreciated and loved by so many and from that moment on it became one of my favourite places and I always wanted to do something for the culture.” Marshmello stated. “When I connected with Pritam, I told him we have to do something fun together, something that makes you want to get up and dance and I think Biba is perfectly that. I’m excited for the world to hear it!"

The video produced by Dharma 2.0, continues to trend on social media platforms and has crossed 11Million view on YouTube already
