Vir Das - Double Dhamaka

India’s largest selling comedy team is back! Inexplicable comedy will get redefined in theatre this season as stand-up star and film actor Vir Das joins hands again with the celebrated theatre production house, Ashvin Gidwani Productions for a new theatrical inning titled ‘Battle Of Da Sexes’.

Vir's new performance will focus on a scientific chronology of the age long struggle between men and women. The performance will be unveiled to the public on the 7^th of September 2013 at Tata NCPA theatre.

Interestingly Vir will be donning a brand new avatar for the very first time where he will depict a man and a woman at the very same time. There are many firsts to this play as Vir Das has written the script of the entire play himself which will feature an edgy rap number composed by him as well. For the preparations of the play, Vir Das locked himself for days together in a villa in Goa to perfect his delivery without committing any dates for his upcoming films.  Apart from rehearsals, Vir has been spending a lot of his time at spas, luncheons, shopping malls, kitty parties, zumba classes giving the pretty ladies company and secretly dissecting the female fatale psyche for his upcoming play.
The producer of the play, Ashvin Gidwani expects this upcoming play to be a rage amongst Vir's fans. He says, “Vir’s character will undergo a complete metamorphosis through a journey of contrasts and comic capers with the new show. The characters and the plot put together lends to a truly new age comedy. I can't wait to host the first public show. Watching Vir Das’ transition from a comedian to an actor, is impressive, to say the least. After a series of houseful performances,  'History Of India' still runs to packed auditoriums. It has been titled the largest selling comedy show ever.”
With plays such as ‘Walking On Broken Das’ and ‘History Of India’ and movies such as 'Delhi Belly' and 'Go, Goa, Gone', Vir has mastered the art of taking the comic genre to another level, making him the undisputed king of stand-up comedy in the country.

Classmate inspires children with ‘Follow Your Heart’ talk session in Mumbai

Classmate, India’s leading Education & Stationery brand from ITC Limited organized a talk session, ‘Follow your Heart’ at the IES School, Bandra in Mumbai. Eminent personalities including Soha Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Terence Lewis and Ravinder Singh interacted with 3000 students in Mumbai and with over 35000 students across 14 cities through a country wide simulcast. An additional 85000+ students participated in this session through Facebook.

As seen in the title of this interactive session, Classmate ‘Follow Your Heart’ highlighted the importance of exploring your true calling - by believing in your unique interests and talents.  All the panellists shared their own experiences on how they took decisions during their formative years, which led to changing their paths; often multiple times in the quest to follow their heart. Their success is testimony to the fact that they followed their heart and achieved success in their chosen spheres.

NEW BHAJAN ALBUM ‘HARE KRISHNA’ by Anup Jalota & Sumeet Tappoo

On this sacred occasion of Krishna Janmasthmi 2013, BhajanSamrat Padmashree Anup Jalota and the his shishya, the young & talented Sumeet Tappoo, have come together to sing in praise of Lord Krishna. 

The album, entitled “Hare Krishna”, is the fourth collaboration of the “Guru-Shishya” duo. However, this album is special in that the shishya has assumed the role of a Music Director and has composed all the Bhajans in the album.
