FROM THE CONSOLE COLLABORAT​ES for the second time with WITH ‘PLAYING FOR CHANGE’ IN ITS SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2012 edition

 
It is said that, ‘Music is a universal language that cuts across barriers’ and this holds true for the  editionof LIVE from the Console asthey have tied up with ‘Playingfor Change’.  ‘Playing for Change’ is anon-profit organization dedicated to provide music and arts education tounderprivileged children worldwide. This organization has announced its 2ndannual PLAYING FOR CHANGE DAYon September 22nd, 2012 and has tied up with LIVE from the Console whowill support the cause by sharing the proceeds. Similar LIVE events areconfirmed in countries across North and South America, Africa, Asia, andEurope. 
The eveningwill begin at 7:00 pm with the documentary ‘On The Road’ with the Playing forChange Band. The documentary to showcase first-ever live recording; featuringperformances from their highly successful 2009 world tour! 
And post that Live fromthe Console guarantees to present an evening that will stun the musicaficionados with Rachel Varghese, Vivek Rajagopalan (Carnatic,electronica, world) and Vivienne Pocha(soul, funk & pop) 
OnThe Road with the Playing For Change Band (Documentary): The global musiccollective Playing For Change presents their first-ever live recording;featuring performances from their highly successful 2009 world tour! Guestperformers on this project include Ziggy Marley & Toots Hibbert. Thisdocumentary takes you behind the scenes as music history is created
 
RachelVarghese:Rachel’s music is an amalgamation of all her musical influences & lifeexperiences. She began to write her own music about 2 years ago.  Her two very good and extremely talentedfriends Yohan Marshall on percussion, guitar & vocals and Samir Karnik onguitar form the rest of her band and have helped her tremendously in findingher sound. Driven by raw emotion, soul and passion for music she hopes all wholisten to her music can find a way to make it their own!
 
Vivek Rajagopalan (Carnatic, electronica, world): Combining Carnatic,Hindustani, Jazz, Folk, Electronic and Drum-n-Bass, Vivek Rajagopalan’s musiccreates rippling sound scapes that are edgy as much as international; and ifworld music today is a melting pot of cultures & genres, then Vivek's musicis a drop of spicy red curry in the concoction.
 
Vivienne Pocha (soul, funk & pop): Vivienne Pocha, theindisputable Diva of the Indian music scene is all set to debut her new album,‘Inside My Head’. The collaboration between a fantastic singer and an amazingsongwriter, Ashu Phatak, the album was completed in just 3 short weeks! Writtenand produced by Ashu, 'Inside My Head' takes you on a tour of Vivienne’s lifeas she transforms herself from a vocalist to an artist. The show also featuresa star studded line-up of musicians: Adrian D'souza, Ashu Phatak, KennyRebello, Ramon Ibrahim and Vinay Lobo 
So, catchon the acts at Live from the Console,Saturday 22nd September 2012 from 6.30 PM onwards, RecordingTheatre, Mehboob Studio (BandraWest).
