MaestroMaestro Bickram Ghosh merges rhythms of India with world percussion in a 100-artiste T20 World Cup Finale Performance

India's leading percussionist-composer and show-designer Maestro Bickram Ghosh, has been finalized to put together a breath-taking seven-minute act for the world- cup final at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 3.
Conceived, composed, performed and presented by Maestro Bickram Ghosh, the show is a colourful, high-energy extravaganza which simultaneously showcases the folk arts of West Bengal as well as the famous and age-old Dance forms of India.
The music is a blast of rhythms from around India merging with world percussions performed at super- fast tempo creating an adrenalin rush appropriately replicating the incredible rush of passion that accompanies a World Cup Final!
The dance forms of Thang Ta, Dhol Cholom, Manipuri, Kathakali, Cchau, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak and the Shankar Technique of New Dance are showcased along with multiple percussionists performing with Tablas, Manipuri Drums, Madals, Dholaks, Djembes, Daraboukkas, Frame-drums, Punjabi dhols, Mridangam et al.
"At every step, my idea has been to keep the sound rooted to India and her incredibly diverse rhythmic cultures, yet mounting them on an international platform interspersed with sounds from across the globe. I am honoured to collaborate with India's topmost Dance choreographers for this act. I am grateful to Sourav Ganguly for giving me this opportunity to present this performance at so important an occasion ."
While the Choreography and Dance will be by Tanusree and Sreenanda Shankar Preeti Patel, Sharmila Biswas, Jaya Seal Ghosh, Madhumita Roy, Kalamandalam Gautam, Chaau dancers from Tunta Aneshya Chhow Academy, with Drummers are Maestro Bickram Ghosh, Pt.S.Sekhar – Mridangam, Pt.Shankar Ghosh Foundation Drummers, Gokul Dhaaki and Team, Purulia Dhamsa and Madal team.
