Doordarshan celebrates the unique bond between mother and
daughter with the Prerna Awards every year and this year renowned educationist
Ira Bhaskar was honored for her contribution to the field.What made this award special was that it was handed over
to Mrs Bhaskar by none other than her daughter Swara Bhaskar.Swara who also has a longstanding equation with the
channel and anchors the show Rangoli for them ,was happy to be part of the
ceremony that honored her mother. It was also a happy coincidence that her
recent film, the critically acclaimed Nil Battey Sannata was also based on a
mother-daughter relationship.
